DS is 3 wks old and it's 25 degrees out (I'm in OH) and snowing half the time here so obviously I'm not trying to take a stroll today, but what is an acceptable temperature to take a 1-3 month old outside for a walk?
My other question is about bathing... I've heard tons of different opinions, and kind of made it up in my mind that every third day would be good to give DS a bath. But SO thinks that maybe that's too much in this weather- super dry and cold out - and his skin might dry out...?
Re: Two-parter: Outdoor Walks and Bath Time
I would walk with DD out in the Cleveland winter, but she was in the Moby under my coat.
We did every 3rd day baths with DD, but are doing every other day with DS. It's just easier to keep track of in our house. Plus, he sleeps better after a bath. Also, we don't use soap on their skin, just their hair. We've never had to use lotion on either of them.
You can walk with them outside, I have been with my 1 month old, you just dress them according to the weather. For two weeks it was about 2 degrees every day and we still enjoyed our stroll. As long as they are warmly dressed and their head is covered up with a hat or something, it's fine.
And with bathing it's recommended to do it 2-3 times a week no matter what season. Too much bathing would be rough on their sensitive lil skin and dry them out like crazy.
