Weekend plans

I've been at my new job for two weeks now, and I'm still getting adjusted to a 45 hour a week schedule. I really do feel like as soon as I get home it's dinner and then bed time and then wake up and do it again. So there's no clean clothes, no clean dishes and the house is a mess.

My plans for this weekend were sleep in and then get up and clean the eff out of my house.

Of course no one told DD. She's been up for an hour now and won't let me put her down. She just wants to be held and cuddled. So there goes my weekend, I think.

What does everyone else have planned for this weekend? Anyone else's plan look like mine?

Re: Weekend plans

  • I've been on a quest to find fleece pajamas for Baby Girl for next winter. I like to buy basic stuff ahead of time, on clearance. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find any in store, so I'm hoping the outlet mall still has some.

I didn't have this issue in Hawaii - I could buy lots of cold-weather stuff for my friends who needed it. But now that WE will needed, I can't find it. Ugh.

But really, I just want an excuse to get around my promise not to buy anymore clothes for Baby Girl - Dh can't argue with the logic that we'll NEED them, and it's better to buy them on clearance now than pay full price later.

Then I'm going to clean my house. I've actually made some decent progress unpacking the last couple of days.

If I finish that, then I'm going to work on some crochet projects, probably after DS goes to bed.

  • I've been cleaning this morning. We had someone come look at our camper that is for sale (any takers?) and he claims he and his wife are coming back to take another look later. My sister and I are going to some antique stores in town after while. No plans for tonight! Dh is getting Baptized tomorrow morning so we have to be at church a little earlier. Then we will teach our 4 year old class and come home to do a whole lot of nothing. I made dh promise that he would allot me time for a nap both today and tomorrow :)

I'm ALWAYS using this excuse. I think I'm pretty much set for clothing for DD for next year at least. Except for a warm coat for next year that I've been looking out for. And sandals for this summer, I'm eyeing all the cute ones in the stores right now and wishing Olivia had bigger feet ( Still only size 3 and most toddler shoes start at 4)

See.. we ALWAYS needs to buy SOMETHING, right?

  • Gym, Cleaning, Laundry . . .not as glamourous as the Jersey Shore kids' GTL but it is what it is . . . This house looks like it has been hit by a tornado.

  • Whole lotta nothing.  I did wash and change the bedsheets yesterday.  We had dinner with my ILs last night and we'll have dinner with my parents tonight.  Other than that, just bumming around the house.  I should really take DD out somewhere for a little bit before lunch & nap , but I don't feel like getting dressed.

I'm sorry Mama. I know you didn't ask for any advice, but here's some anyways:

I throw in a load of the laundry in the morning before I go to work. I take it out when I get back in the evening (a few hours in there isn't long enough for it to start to stink).

I try and prep all my veggies the night before - That saves me quite a bit of time when I make dinner.

My 30-minute challenge: DH and I spend 30 minutes cleaning after we put the girls to bed. Helps a lot in keeping the house somewhat presentable.

I do appreciate the advice ;)

I've never been a full time working mom. Before this I was a student so it's a big change.
