So, being a FTM and new to this, I need some help..... DS started eating solids @ 5months, and so far is a rock star at eating his solids- loves veggies, & fruits. Just had his six month check up, and doc said to start giving him finger foods.. I guess it was information overload, ad completely forgot to ask for some ideas.. So what kinds of things should I start giving him?
Re: Ideas for finger foods?
This. I cook carrots, broccoli, and sweet potatoes all to a soft yet "pick upable" consistency. Bananas and avocados are good too. I try to avoid wheats, grain and rice but DS has had some puffs from grandma. For instance, breakfast was scrambled eggs and banana, lunch was pureed apple's and finger cubes of chicken and dinner was pork chop cubes and carrot cubes. I usually try to keep cubes and chunks about the same size as my pinkie nail.
