Stretch Mark??

Ugh, 34weeks and have been blessed to not have any... until last night that is.

My little man got super active and kept sticking his elbow right in my belly button. I used to have my belly button pierced, and as he was pushing I could feel the pain of the two holes stretching. It turned all red and was burning. Now this moring it looks like I have a hickey right above my belly button. Lets hope there are no additions to this one made in the next few weeks!

Anyone else FEEL their stretch mark being formed??

Re: Stretch Mark??

  • Nope but I do see mine and they actually started around my 34th week. At this point though. My main goal after birth is to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight. I'm already accepting the stretch marks....sigh...

  • Ha, I got my first ones at 34 weeks, too - also around my belly button. I actually felt some skin irritation around there the afternoon they appeared. I went to the mirror, and BAM. 3 weird, curved lines around my belly button. So, in short, yes :P

I also used to have my belly button pierced, and lucky me - it was pierced crooked (at the ripe age of 15), and that is WAY more obvious now Embarrassed  I haven't worn it in years, hoping it would heal, but it never fully has. Now the skin between the two holes is continuously dark pink / red, and I also now have a weird (tiny) "hickey" like mark above the top hole.

I got mine at 15 too! It's been out for alomst a year and it's closed but has yet to heal. Such an ugly addition to the small hip tattoo I have that has consumed the right side of my belly now.Oh the Decisions we make before pregnancy.

  • I got my first stretch marks at 36 weeks.. Two at once below my belly.. My belly button piercing holes look weird and kinda hurt if I push on them.. It's like the skin got really tight not ideal.. But my tattoo hasn't stretched yet so that's a positive..

I have a Daughter born 2/26/2013. She is pretty much amazing!

  • I got a stretch mark in the same spot my first pregnancy as well. Thankfully no more. Wait til you are pregnant again, it will stretch, grow legs, and turn more red as mine has! Thankfully I still don't have any more so I plan on re piercing my belly button when I'm done having kids and or telling people its a surgical scar lol. I've also looked at monokinis, mother or not, I refuse to wear a one piece on the beach lol.

  • I actually got faint stretch marks waayyy before i started to show. I didnt show until i was about 6 and a half months. One night i got this awful pain near my belly buttona stretching skin pain, and sure enough the next morning there was a nice, red line in that spot. I was only like 20 weeks and had NO bump whatsoever. So strange!

  • I was lucky enough to not get any stretchmarks the first time around but I don't think I'll be so lucky this time.  I don't have any yet, but I had my belly button pierced too and that's where it seems very very tight.  I'll have to make sure DS's deadly little elbows don't do any belly damage after reading this!  Those little elbows are just killer in general.

  • Omg the same thing happened with my belly button ring! I took it out a few years ago, but it started to hurt really bad and I could feel it stretching and now I have a nice purple stretch mark right on top of the stretched out holes! Which you can see both of now that I'm huge!!! I should have listened to my mom all those years ago when she said "one day you're going to be pregnant and that's going to look awful!" I guess mother really does know best!!!

  • I never minded my stretch marks. I had some growing up, and they fainted quick, but my first pregnancy was a real eye-opener in terms of stretching my skin... It ended in a MC, but have no fear, I will forever remember thanks to those ginormous scar-like roads all over my stomach.

This time around, I just resigned. I'll slather lotion on my belly once or twice a week, and leave it at that. For me, it's not a burning sensation, it's more like an itch. An uncontrollable, terrifying itch. Then I know it's coming... Another road to nowhere!
