Re: Friday
Friday - we're having an at home date night - yay!
Saturday - brunch with our favorite friends and then some other good friends are coming over for dinner at our house.
Sunday - relaaaax - probably by doing some housework and enjoying the clean house!
We are going to spend some time with our KD and his wife this evening. We have become great friends with them, plus we need to discuss our next insemination.
We don't have many other plans this weekend besides cleaning the house and spending some quality time together.
QOTD: I am a nanny and will be taking my child to work with me (once we have one) after my initial 6 weeks off.
We are in full on Blizzard mode right now! Safely tucked away at home with plenty of food and not planning to leave until a doctor's appointment on Monday. Gonna get blasted with 2-3 feet of snow and wind gusts around 70mph!
QOTD - K will go from working full time to just two days a week. One of those days the boys will be with the in-laws. The other day I will be home (I work a four day work week). This is a win for us as we will still have 2 days off together and we won't completely lose her income.
Working a little while longer today and then relaxing and reading TCOYF.
Saturday we have hockey (wife plays goalie) and then a dinner date with "potential" known donor and his wife and then possibly more hockey (watching some pond hockey)
Sunday will be a work day for me and for DW. She is on duty 24 hrs at the station
QOTD: I am an attorney and work from home, but the projects are unpredictable. After we have a child, I will be staying home and working when I can.
Tomorrow I am coordinating some training for my work though we are in the midst of a snowstorm here so I have my fingers crossed it will work out for it. After that I will likely lay low and decompress a bit it's been an intense week!
QOTD: It really depends on the timing, but I am fortunate enough to get 5 months off at 93 percent of my pay for maternity leave, and another 7 at 55 percent pay if I wanted it... I would probably take the 5 months for our first, and then go back to work and H would become the primary caretaker during the week.... For our 2nd I would like to be able to take more time...

My weekend is more of the same...trying to recover from a massive head cold! I'm 6 days in, and I'll say being sick while pregnant is definitely worse than normal. My midwife said it's lasting "around 3 weeks"...ug! I'll be better just before my next airplane ride which is where I think I got this.
I get 20 weeks off, 12 paid and I'll use vacation and savings to cover the other 8. Then J will have two days at home during the week, I'll have weekends, and likely 3 days in a small in-home daycare.
Me (43) and J (45) - same sex couple. And we don't feel 40+!

QOTD. I'll stay home. Any money that I would bring in would go directly to daycare, so it doesn't really make sense for me to work.
*DS 6/28/2013*
This weekend we're going thrifting, working on training our dog, and reading at our favorite dessert place/cafe. I'm in my last semester of a ms program in counseling and I have about 300 pages on trauma treatment that I have to read. It's disturbing stuff, so having chocolate nearby is pretty much necessary. Also, I should probably also vacuum at some point. I just saw a dust bunny the size of a softball.
QOTD (er, yesterday): Once my partner's maternity leave is over, I'll be the one staying at home with the little one. Even with my degree my partner makes about twice what I would if I worked at a community mental health clinic. I'll probably work one day a week either volunteering at the place I'm currently interning, or providing sliding-fee services at a local private practice. I'll probably transition to private practice when the lo is 2 or 3, but I want to be at home pretty much full time until then.
