Short/sweet name opinions and suggestions

DH and I will find out the sex of our baby in the next week or two. We are trying to find names that work with our style. We aren't hugely traditional and we like short/sweet/slightly different (but not too far out) names. Our last name is pretty generic so Italian names (my heritage) don't quite flow.

DH and I really like the name Jovie Quinn for a girl. I like Cash Allen for a boy, but DH isn't quite sure about it. What do you guys think? With our 'baby name style' in mind, do you guys have any suggestions?

I really like Jovie, that is very pretty and different! I'm not crazy about Cash but that's just me.

Suggestions - Olive, Marie, Stella, Annie, Lia, Moira, Bridget for a girl and Wyatt, Blake, Maverick (not sure if this is a real name to be honest, it was in one of my Nora Roberts books lol but it reminds me of Cash a bit), Dane, Zane for a boy.

I was worried about the trying too hard thing. Our first dance at our wedding was 'Rose of my Heart' by Johnny Cash so I liked the idea of Cash. I am worried about how it would translate though.

DH loves Dexter with the nn of Dex. I like Dex but not fond of Dexter. Do you guys think Dex could stand alone?

Me personally? Yes. Depending on your last name. This name is out for us, although I love it because of the Dexter show.

I'm not sure if I like Jovie or not. I kind of think of Bon Jovi. I don't like Cash at all but I like both mn choices!

I kinda like Jovie. There is a baby girl on my BNB with this name and it's nice. Not loving Quinn for a girl, but it's tolerable in the mn spot.

Honestly, I don't love Cash for a boy.

Suggestions: Mia, Mila, Carys, Maren, Gia AND Rhys, Bryce, Ian, Finn

DH liked Clark, I really didn't. I really like Wyatt, but DH didn't. Boy names are so hard! I am not really a country/western person but those are all the names I pick out lol!

Johnny was Cash's stage name. He actually had no first or last name, only the initials J. R. You could nod to Cash and name a boy Jay? Either that or Sue ;]

Suggestions with a somewhat country feel.

Girl: Wren, Celia, Lila, Sage, Rae/Mae

Boy: Brooks, Hoyt, Jake, Vance

Maybe because I live in TN but I really don't like the Cash/Knox/Nash names.

We have a friend with two boys, Cash and Harley...and they fit them perfectly. Cash is 4 and writes his own little songs, so it kinda worked out. I think it can work, though it does have a little bit of a youneek quality. Jovie is cute, different but not weird...she will always have to spell it out I'm guessing. Dex is cool on its own, but if you have to compromise with hubs, you can name him Dexter and have a firm nn of Dex.

We found out on Valentine's Day that we will be having a little girl! Her name will be Jovie Quinn. Not everyone's cup of tea, but works well for us. THANKS AGAIN!
