Adalyn's Birthday! *Pics

We celebrated Adalyn's birthday this past weekend! We had a small family party this past Saturday night, where she partook in our tradition of singing Happy Birthday in all 3 language (English, Spanish, and Italian). 

What a year it has been.  She has come a long way from the 1 pound 12 ounces and 12 inches from when she was born.  She is now 15 pounds 11 ounces and is 26 inches long.  She is on the growth chart, but barely!  She is 0.3 percentile for weight, 0.5 percentile for length, and 0.6 percentile for head circumference.  For weight-for-length she is 34.5 percentile, so at least she is proportional! She was at a slightly higher percentile (2.9) at her 9 month appointment, but her weight gain has gotten slower since she has become a crawling machine. 

Speaking of crawling, this little girl crawls EVERYWHERE! She is always keeping us on our toes!  She is definitely getting faster with each day.  She is also a cruising machine, although now that she is faster at crawling, she will cruise only if it is a short distance.  If not, she will get down, crawl, and then pull herself back up! 

She doesn't have any words yet, but she does babble a lot.  Lots of consonant sounds, as well as pointing, etc.  

We are so thankful for all that she has been able to overcome.  I know that I've said this before, but she has taught me the real meaning of tenacity, and I'm amazed at her strength and determination. Someone told me "Oh, oh.  Watch out for the terrible 2s!"  Smile  I love my little feisty girl and I wouldn't want it any other way!

    Happy birthday!  It is amazing that it is a year later.  My baby girl just went into her 9 month appointment, and she is 18 lbs and over 26 inches.  So I am just letting her grow at her pace.
