Story about my appointment yesterday

So my ob office is about 30 minutes from where I live.

While I'm there checking in the next person to come in is a girl I went to hs with who I used to be pretty good friends with (freshman/sophomore year). I am still fb friends with her. She has a daughter who is a year and a half. Her husband was there with her. I assume she is pregnant again. She lives in the same area as me, I believe.

I don't say anything to her because she hasn't said anything on fb and I don't want her to know that I'm pregnant, although I'm sure she probably figured since MH was there.

But what are the chances, that of all the offices and of the times, we happen to be there at the same.time?

I won't say anything and I'm pretty sure she won't either, but I felt a little awkward and I felt totally rude not making eye contact.

I know. If she is pregnant she hasn't announced it yet, so I didn't want call her out on it, and I haven't said anything about my pregnancy so I didn't want to say anything either.

But I felt kind of awkward. After I announce it I'll say something to her, so she knows why I didn't say anything at the time.

This is sort of what I was thinking.

Did you make eye contact? My OB's waiting room is so small it would be impossible not to.

I agree it's an awkward place to meet though, for sure.

I totally understand. I ran into my friend's wife at my OB when I was pg with C. I was far enough along that she knew and I had referred her to my OB so I new she was pg. except she had just miscarried so it made my excitement for her really awkward.

Generally, my rule is "if you don't say hi to me when I see you IRL then maybe we shouldn't be FB friends".

It's not like the OB's office is reserved just for pregnant women. Women go there all the times for Pap smears, IUD related stuff, and of course ''women problems''.

It's not like you'd have had to told her, but you could have still swapped a quick ''hi, how are you?''.

It's true, she could have been there for something else. I just assumed it was pregnancy since her husband was with her.

Just lurking. MH has only come to pregnancy related appointment both for good and bad appointments. She could have been there for a number of things. I never ask anyone why they are seeing a doctor.

She could have been there for other reasons like trying to conceive, previously abnormal pap smears, bartholin cyst, etc.
