So I think I finally got the Newborn hug hold down. Is it normal for them to be squished into a little ball though? I feel like she keeps sinking down so she's like a little butterball turkey. She doesn't seem uncomfortable and I checked her head placement. She rests it on my chest and has plenty of room between her chin and chest. Breathing is normal.
Side question I tried my Ergo with the infant insert and I feel like her head just flops forward. Does it just need to rest on your chest like with the Moby? I have a big baby..almost 9 lbs but she's only a week old.
Re: Moby Question with a side Ergo infant insert question
Try the legs out position with the moby - much easier to get her properly positioned. You do not want her crumpling into a ball - it's likely that you need to wrap tighter to keep her body straight. Newborns are floppy and the moby has lots of stretch - don't be afraid to tighten
The ergo with insert should also hold her snuggly against you just like you'd hold her in arms. You will have to do legs in with the ergo for a while. You may need to tighten the straps so she is high and tight on your chest.
I have a video on newborn positioning in my blog in my siggy if you are interested
