1) My wife lost her job at the end of her shift last Thursday. Essentially they downsized and the lady who had her job before took over the bulk of the responsibility and she was laid off. She's been fired/laid off at some point during both of our pregnancies. I'm just glad outside of diapers, most everything we have for our 1st will work for our 2nd.
2) The upside, if there is one, to my wife's current unemployment is that our son gets both parents 2 full days a week for the last few weeks as a family of 3. We still plan on taking him places on my days off so he still gets to feel special and important and get some alone time with at least one parent.
3) Had another growth scan yesterday. They estimate him at 6 lb 13 oz right now at 36 weeks, 1 day. If he comes at 39 weeks like planned (this may change in less than an hour, as my wife is at the doctor's office now reviewing the ultrasound from yesterday and may determine to move the date up), he could very well be easily 8 1/2 lbs (more likely closer to 9 1/2, as they projected his older brother to be 8 lbs and wound up 10).
4) Getting a nice sized tax return this year... probably enough to pay off my wife's car, get a new TV and still attack another bill. Will be interested to see what next year's return will be like... she'll have job loss, job search, and hopefully new job, on top of birth of child. Goal for next year is enough to hopefully replace our fridge, dishwasher and maybe get a water softener.
5) I don't know if it is because our toddler keeps us so busy, but I can't believe we are less than 3 weeks from being a family of 4. Looking forward to it, but it snuck up on us. Time in general has. My sister posted that she'd been married for 6 months the other day, and it seems like she got married last week.
1) Gearing up for this massive snowstorm that's going to be hitting the Northeast this weekend. I work for an electric utility company, so I've already been told that my weekend does not exist.
2) My wife is now 15 weeks and a couple days along. We found out from our ultrasound that there's a 75% chance of it being a boy. That kind of shocked me since I was positive it was going to be a girl.
3) Also shocking is that my mindset has completely changed with that bit of knowledge. I find myself questioning things that I took for granted when I thought it was going to be a girl. For instance, I don't want to raise my son to think of women as objects, or to buy into this whole societal hyper-testosterone-filled-masculinity that seems to be shoved down the throats of everyone.
4) & 5) I got nothing. I'm running out of my morning coffee energy and am quickly losing focus and motivation. Time to refuel!
1. My Bump days are pretty limited with as much as I have to do at work. It is sad.
2. Baby will be 7 weeks old tomorrow. I can not absolutely believe how fast time is going. People see her for the first time and say "omgosh she is so tiny!" and I think "holy crap she is so huge". She just broke the 8lb mark and looks like a monster compared to birth!
3. My wife has 5 more weeks of being at home with the baby. We are fortunate to be a financial situation where she can stay home if she wants and be a SAHM. She is considering it but I think she will choose to work. She teaches and says she doesn't like it but I think it is a good outlet for her to work with peers etc and I think she misses it.
4. Coke Zero + Capt Morgan Black is the best ever.
5. My wife and I are exploring letting someone watch the baby for a few hours one night soon just so we can go out ourselves. My wife pumps quite a bit of breast milk so we would be covered there. The idea of leaving her at home scares us though!

1) We've been reading more about the heart defect that was detected yesterday in our son. We are feeling a lot better after the initial shock. There is a decent chance it will fix itself before birth and an even better chance it fixes itself before age 3.
2) My friend and his girlfriend are staying with us right now. The day after they moved in with us they started buying furniture for their future apartment. That filled up the small amount of space we had left. I was pretty annoyed by it, but they are moving into their new place this weekend. So I am keeping my mouth shut to keep the peace.
3) Because my friend filled our house with furniture, I don't have the room to move our furniture around to start work on the nursery. I've actually had a little free time so it's been frustrating. Especially since my wife is eager to get it settled.
4) I'm getting excited for baseball season. Reds pitchers and catchers report on Monday.
5) Disappointing couple of days for my Buckeyes and Bearcats. Buckeyes had chances to put away the #3 team in the country and couldn't do it. Bearcats lost to Providence and never really threatened. Need to bounce back.

Facepalm.
They do realize everything they buy now they have to MOVE, right?
-My son was born in April 2012. He pretty much rules.

Don't get me started. There have been a lot of things happening in my house that make no sense.

I used to like the moving process. It was a good workout. Now I hire people. Best decision I ever made!!
1) My wife has been experiencing horrible morning sickness for the last couple weeks now. She got a prescription from the doctor to help with the nausea and she had been doing better. Last night she didn't take it and as a result her oatmeal ended up in the shower this morning. I feel terrible for her.
2) I am usually a very patient person but I have been struggling to remain calm about the pregnancy wait. We're only 9 weeks in and it's driving me crazy.
3) In about a month and a half we will be going to London and Ireland for the first time. I still have a lot of planning to do for that trip and I am really procrastinating.
4) My birthday is in a couple weeks and turning 31 is bothering me more than turning 30. I don't know why.
5) I signed up for the Michigan Tough Mudder, the obstacle course event which is happening in late June. I did it last year and had a great time. This year I wanted to do it in order to give me a goal to lose weight but I have yet to start doing Insanity. This winter is killing my motivation.

I'm just going to restate some of my opinions borrowed from a thread on the Parenting board
1) I love real Maple Syrup so hard. That fake crap they serve at most chain diners offends me.
2) Mayo is nasty
3) Animal print clothing is mostly trashy
4) Little Boy clothes are way more awesome than little girl clothes
5) I don't care about Minor League Football (NCAAF)

Since they aren't staying long, you're probably smart to just shake your head and keep your mouth shut.

1. Finally got the nursery mostly ready, after having the stuff sit in our dining room for a few months.
2. The morning sickness/dislike of certain foods is coming back
3. Our LO is getting stronger, I can actually feel/see the movements almost every night now. Until this past week, I had only felt 2 kicks.
4. She may have had contractions (Only 35 weeks)
5. Starting to get cabin fever, can't wait for it to be warm enough to ride my recumbent again.
