Hi - Does anyone have recommendations for co-sleeping products (brands, what to look for, etc)? We are first time parents and want to try it but are a bit nervous about jumping in right away without some protection barrier to ease us in (probably a little silly but we just can't help it!). We have a queen size bed so we don't want anything too big. Thanks!
Re: Co-Sleeping Advice
I assume you mean bed-sharing. Since you are first time parents and you will be anxious I suggest that you start off with a bedside sleeper, and then move to bed-sharing from there once you get comfortable and familiar with LO's sounds and patterns. As far as products, try googling cosleepers and then reading the reviews until you find one that is well-liked by lots of parents. They tend to be pretty reasonable.
Once the baby is in bed with you I would advise against any sort of barrier or pillow wall since LO can suffocate that way.
We've used a bed-rail. Not specifically a bedsharing device, but it allowed us to have LO next to just me and stop me feeling anxious about LO rolling off the bed.
It also allowed me to not have LO snugged right up against me and know she wouldn't fall off the bed, as we have a Queen as well so not heaps of space to spread out.

Get a king-size mattress, and put it on the floor. DH and I used separate blankets when DS1 was teeny, but I don't think we did it for DS2. Oh, and get some fleece sleep sacks for the baby so they can stay warm. That's all you need!
This is a good website for safe co-sleeping habits: https://cosleeping.nd.edu/safe-co-sleeping-guidelines/
