Has anyone read his manifesto about why he is targeting his former co-workers?
I have a lot of friends and family in the area and there are even police protecting some LAPD officers in the city where my family lives. My relative was scared to send her kid to school because this guy is also targeting the cops' families and my relative had no idea if any of those cops' kids went to her son's school. It is absolutely terrifying for them.
I think this guy is definitely dangerous and needs to be taken into custody ASAP before anyone else gets killed. I also can't help but think that some of the things he said about the LAPD culture is true too. They have a history of doing all sorts of nasty things, including beating on people, and I doubt they have changed much. Of course this never justifies mass murder, but I hope after all is said and done and they catch this guy, that someone investigates the accusations he made in his manifesto.
Re: Thoughts on LAPD Cop/Cop Killer?
I have no doubt that some of the stuff he posted is true. We've had evidence of the like here before:
https://www.cnn.com/2012/09/28/justice/california-police-beating
However, all that being said, I have great respect for our police force who are out there every day putting themselves on the line, doing things that most of us wouldn't even consider, and the thought of an additional fear/terror/attack they have to face sickens me. This morning the news reported he may still be in San Diego, where they found his ID and my heart dropped to my stomach with worry for friends on the force. My heart is heavy for the couple who lost their lives for no other crime than being related to someone crazy-cakes had a vendetta against.
Even assuming everything in the manifesto is true, I'm one of those crazy bleeding heart liberals who believes that nothing justifies taking another's life and this psycho is going about things the wrong way.
Wow, that is indeed another horrible story!
I agree with everything you said 100% and I feel the same way as you about homicide. The fact that this guy is targeting family member takes his atrocious activities to a whole new level. I keep thinking about all of the other things he could have done instead without resorting to this. I still do hope someone looks into his claims. I know that every institution has a lot of really good people and some really bad seeds too; the police department is no different. These kinds of claims make the whole department look bad even if it is just a handful of people doing these things.
