Any knitters here?

I love knitting. When I found out my SIL was pg I knit almost non-stop until my niece was born. I think I ended up giving her 3 sweaters, 4 sets of booties, 6 hats, a pair of mittens, a pair of leg warmers and a sheep.

Since I found out I am pg I have really tried to restrain myself. So far I have only finished one hat and am working on a teddybear sweater. Anyone else finding it hard not to go crazy with the baby projects? I have a whole list of things I want to knit for my LO but I am going to try to hold off until we know the gender! Oh I cant wait!

Re: Any knitters here?

  • I love knitting, but haven't made anything more than a simple cable knit blanket so far.  I've made a few other crafty things though, some of which I made before I even knew I was pregnant.  I've made two mobiles and sewn a baby blanket.

  • I crochet. I made a little hat last June when we started TTC. I gave it to dh to tell him we were pg.

I tried to learn to knit about a year ago. I managed a scarf, but not even anything cute with the different stitches.

I'm a new knitter! I started back around thanksgiving and made a few scarves as Christmas presents. I'm looking for some easy new projects to start. Where is your favorite place to get patterns?

My favorite place for patterns is a website called www.ravelry.com. It is a place to catalog your projects and your supplies, and find patterns. My username on that site is crittersoother, yes you can friend people.  If you do find a pattern that looks cute but dont know how to do that technique, I highly recommend looking it up on Youtube. 3 years ago I couldn't knit much more than a scarf but thru Youtube I taught myself to do pretty much anything.  Here is one of the little sweaters I knit.

  • That little sweater is adorable.

I don't knit, but I do quilt. That's my go to baby gift, and once I manage to convince myself that I get to keep this baby, I'll start looking at patterns and fabric. Maybe at 20 or so weeks.

Oh and Ravelry.com also has crochet patterns. I can't crochet to save my life. I wish I could because I keep finding really cute knit patterns that have crochet details!

  • That sweater is adorable! I don't know how to knit or crochet, but my mom likes to crochet. She is already working on a blanket, and she got a book on how to make kids hats. So cute! She's so excited :
  • I'm a part of a group at work to knit but haven't made too many things...not sure that I could kick out a sweater!
