Question about pain

Today I have been having some very sharp pains in my lower uterus, seriously feels like the baby is grabbing something or kicking my cervix.. It's actually very painful. The pain doesn't come at regular intervals but I've had it for the past few hours at work.  I'm worried because I am almost 35 weeks and at 32 weeks I was told I was 1cm dilated and 50% effaced. I have been having some increased discharge lately even though I am aware that this is normal for my stage of pregnancy I am worried that these pains could mean that I'm going to go into labor soon or that there is something wrong with the baby. This is my first child so I don't know if I'm just being paranoid or if there could be something wrong. Anyone else have this type of pain

    I had that too and it started around 35 weeks.  I told my midwife about it and she said it was normal.  My baby was born on her due date so it definitely didn't have anything to do with my labor.

    It's normal.  My doctor calls them "crotch zingers" and I've also heard it be referred to as "lightening crotch".  Either way, a lovely term for a lovely pain.

    Could be your ligaments stretching bc during this last stretch LO is doing nothing but growing and getting bigger

    Does your insurance have a Nurse Hotline? If so that might be a good place to ask this question.

    Yes I just started having these pains today and I'm 36 weeks.  I have also seen stuff online about lightening crotch.  I'm not too worried about it even though it is pretty uncomfortable.  Hope that it doesn't get worse for either of us.
    Natural m/c on 12-22-11@ 8 weeks. D&C 12-23-11. Natural m/c @5 weeks on 3/22/12.
