I'm trying to figure out where to go this year. We will certainly be taking LO with us. Didn't know if you ladies had any suggestions? DH's mom has already bought us tickets to visit her in Orlando...but we go every year. Since we don't have to pay anything for that trip, I wanted to plan another. Something relaxing and fun.
Re: Where are you going on vacation?
We are going to California in July.
Meeting my sister and her family at DisneyLand, then driving to her house to stay for a week. She lives near San Francisco.
Grace will be 8 months old so should be easily portable!
We are going to a casino down by Denver in April, but that's just the 2 of us.
In September we are going to tx to visit family and go to the beach. LO1 will be 2, and LO2 will be 10m.

My Mom is German, and she wanted us all to go to Germany for a few weeks as soon as possible . . . are you kidding me, Mom? Even *if* she paid for everything, international flight with a newborn baby? I told her that my DH can't take off from work for more than a week, and then she said just me and her could take DS *cringe*
She made a better suggestion with Mt. Rushmore (eight hours away from us) over the summer - I'm hoping to wait till he's like six months at least. I want him to be able to sit up on his own, but not crawl yet (at least for our first big vacay). But honestly, even that trip is making me nervous: we haven't committed either way yet.

Flew international with DD1 when she was 9 months old and it was pretty easy. And that was to London with a connection in Norway (we flew the weekend of Hurricane Irene and originally had a direct flight, but had to scramble to get any flight after that). Unless you have a super fussy baby this will probably be the easiest time to fly with them.
Los Angeles in May for my brother's college graduation.
We will also be doing a cruise in Dec for Christmas with some friends of ours. We were supposed to do this cruise August 2012 but I was too far along in my pregnancy to board a ship (according to the cruise line).
You are brave
I wouldn't mind revisiting the idea sometime in the summer (but probably more like the fall). My Mom wanted to go pretty much as soon as he was born though
Like, when he was just a few weeks. I'm like, "I won't even let him see extended family two hours away until after his vaccinations - why would I take him on an airplane??" lol. That's ok though - she's just excited to show off her grandson, I get it. Just can't oblige her just yet ;P

Same here. Not to mention, a real vacation would be one without kids!
We probably won't go anywhere except quick trips to visit family until next summer when I graduate. Then I'm gonna want to blow off some major steam. We'll be going back to Vermont for DH's family reunion then anyway so maybe we'll jet over to Europe while we're halfway there.
Unfortunately this for us too.
I feel like everyone and their mother is on vacation right now. My Facebook news feed looks like a travel brochure, sigh.
I just wanted to tell you how much I LOVE your siggy pic. It's freakin' adorable.
In answer to OP: I live in Orlando!
But when DH and I want to go some place to relax we either spend a weekend at a B&B in St Augustine or in a nice hotel on a beach somewhere. We've yet to take a vacation-vacation anywhere other than our honeymoon to Costa Rica, but I'd highly recommend that if you've got the budget since it was super relaxing.

Since I'm going on vacation to Orlando, you should take your vacations to NY. Only fair.
This year, we're going to Disney for my parent's 30th wedding anniversary in June. We're also taking a short trip to Orlando in November, but it's a work trip for me, mostly. So, the boys will be playing at Disney for S's birthday while Mommy teaches at sales school.
