For the past month, my DD has been sleeping through the night. It's been really nice. She sleeps and naps well during the day. I put her down around 10-11pm and she'll sleep to almost 7am. However she has not been STTN these last three nights. After putting her down, she'll wake up once in the middle of the night around 4am. When she doesn't go back to sleep by soothing or with a pacifier, I feed her. She's hungry! She eats and then goes back to sleep with no problems. I'm wondering if this is a growth spurt. And if it is, how long does it last before she goes back to STTN??? I miss my sleep!
Re: Not STTN this week...growth spurt?
I posted this just a few threads down, but we just go through a growth spurt.
My DS was sleeping through the night for like two weeks (from two months, until ten weeks - before then, getting up every hour, or two hours, with maybe one four hour stretch at night, if I was lucky) . . . and then he had some teething (he loves to gnaw on his fist, and has three raised little areas on his gums), then of course, there was his three month growth spurt a week ago, and honestly just needing a set schedule (he didn't respond well to it a few weeks ago, but loves it now!)
But it literally took two weeks, and he was working his way up to waking up several times at night - three days ago, it peaked at him waking up every hour and a half, to two hours (no.matter.what), and he was even awake for seven hours straight, completely overtired. Then, just like that, he started feeling himself again, and is now on a schedule, and has STTN for the past two nights. Last night (though I'm sure it was a fluke), he slept twelve hours: YAY!!!
Though I hope everything goes back to normal for you, be prepared for it possibly not to. I have two (out of three) brothers, who never took naps during the day after like three months, and were horrible night sleepers as well (always waking up before everyone else, and just roaming through the house). You just never know, until you get there. Good luck!
