BF moms: WWYD?

BIL is coming home from the air force the first week in April. DH's family wants to go to the Chicago Cubs home opener one of the days. When we go to a Cubs game, we take the train and its an all day affair. I said I wouldn't go because I don't know how I would pump. His family doesn't understand how important breastfeeding is to me and thinks I'm being ridiculous. But I do want to go. So WWYD? Go possibly 1012 hours without pumping? I would hand express for comfort. But would that kill my supply because my body thinks I'm done? If it will, I'm not willing to sacrifice that. K comes first now.

  • Does your pump have a battery pack?

  • If bringing baby or your whole pump isn't an option what about bringing a hand pump and then dumping so you don't have to worry about saving/keeping milk cold....(dumping sounds heartbreaking) but then at least you can still enjoy the day and keep your supply.

Yes. I just didn't want to pump in a grungy bathroom. Lol! But good idea M, I'll call Wrigley!

I would probably do something like this, just because lugging my pump around isn't all that appealing to me.

    All of this!

I know for a fact they have a mother's room for employees (I went to a conference there and it was on the map).  They may have one for fans as well.  It's a big city, and BFing is cool again.  You can find pumping rooms all over big cities.

ETA: I wouldn't not pump at all.  I had to go 8 hours once due to a jerkface exec not giving us any breaks during a meeting, and I was physically in pain with a soaked shirt by the end.

Chances are good that if they DON"T have one for fans, they'll still let you use the employee one.

I googled Wrigley and breastfeeding and some mom's posted that they had a room at the first aid station that they were able to breastfeed in. I'll call to make sure I can use it for pumping and if I can bring my pump in the stadium. But at the very least, I'll bring my hand pump. Thanks for all your advice!
