I'm going to have to save up and sell the stroller I have now (I have never really cared for it anyway, but it was a gift for my baby shower so I have kept it!)..
Gosh baby gear is so expensive lol I was wanting to get LO a better carseat, I don't like not having a base and being rear facing. It feels like the seat in front of him is the only thing keeping the thing in place and how could that be safe??
But he's so big now at 23lbs and 29 1/2 inches long, there are only a few options and they aren't cheap and won't last long either anyway!! But I'm going to try to get him the Safety First OnBoard 35! It's perfect and I'm planning on having another baby next year (hoping for a princess for my little prince to help us protect )
Let me know if anyone has either of these products and what you think of them! TIA (:
Also, didn't there used to be parenting on a budget board or something of that sort???
Re: I want the Contours Optima Tandem Stroller
The seat in front of him should definitely not be holding the carseat in place. Something is wayyyyyyyy wrong. It shouldn't budge more than an inch and should not be loose in any way. Take it to the fire department, police station or other local authority that does installations and inspections and have them secure it properly. Until then, I wouldn't put my child in that seat-- it's definitely unsafe.

From what you posted on the 9-12m board, you need to have your seat properly installed and then you wont' have to rely on the front seat keeping your carseat in place. Please do not drive anywhere else before you read your manual and properly learn to install the carseat. It should not move more than 1in side to side from the belt path. There is a great facebook group that can help you learn how to properly install your seat (or help you find local resources who can teach you)

The seat should NOT tip over when you turn. You should not have to have your seat reclined to hold it into place. A carseat without a base is completely safe (and rear-facing is 100% necessary at this age) if it is properly installed.
Wait. Is this for real? The car seat flips over when she turns?!
I think a new cars eat should be a priority. Go to baby r us hen they have there trade in special and get something safe.
Las far as a review for the optima, it is a nice double stroller. It is a little wide and a bit heavy I though but you would have to see it yourself. Buy buy baby has a floor model now. Burlington coat factory might have one too.
