Yucky snottiness, bad cough, chest and head congestion. Both Oliver & I have it. We all had a cold last month, then he had an ear infection before thanksgiving, and now this! He's only in daycare 9 hours a week, but I know it was one of those snotty kids who gave it to him.
Anyway, for him, we're doing: saline spray, aspirator, Baby Vick's, humidifier, him in the bouncer in the bathroom while I take hot showers, and Tylenol for the sore throat. Anything else I'm not thinking of? I feel so bad for him...here I am hopped up on Nyquil and all sorts of drugs, and still feel like crap, and he can't have a thing. Amazingly, he's napping now...not sure for how long.
Re: We're sick. Any advice?
For you, you may want to try a neti pot to clear out your sinuses - that always works for me, although it's a gross feeling pouring warm saltwater into your nose and letting it drain out. Try standing in the shower with him so there's more steam going to him rather than him just being in the bouncer outside the shower. Also, I have heard that if you put Vick's vaporub on your baby's feet and then put socks over it that helps more - not sure if it's because the Vick's is absorbed into the skin or the vapors come out more. Worth a shot, right?
All this coming from someone who had not had a cold in over two years as of September 08 and then has had 3 colds, the flu, a sinus infection, and pink eye twice since September - same with DD and DH. We've been a bunch of sick people at our house...
