We got the loan approval to start building our house yesterday! They will start building at the beginning of March and the goal is to be done at the end of May. I cannot wait to be out of an apartment and have more space than we will know what to do with.

    I am so glad to be done with the financing part of this process. This is our forever home because I am not dealing with that again.

    I feel the same way about this house. The financing part was such a nightmare and literally we didn't even know if the loan was going to fund the day of closing until about 45 minutes from closing. Not because of anything from dh or I, just that is how the mortgage world is anymore. It was a stressful nightmare, and I wouldn't have been surprised if they had asked to see the results of my last Pap smear along with all the other pieces of paperwork with my name on it that I had received in the past 18 months. Ugh.
    July 20th, 2012: Never forget the day the fb douchebags tried so hard, but ultimately failed. Viva la October 2011! Yeah, I called you douchebags.

    We closed Tuesday and our realtor joked that we needed to add a lock of hair and a drop of blood to finish it haha

    Pap smear, lol. They even had me take a picture of my law degree, even though they already had my transcripts, after I refused to get it off my office wall, unframe it, and make a copy of it for them. I didn't realize there could be issues closer to closing, I thought we were out of the woods.
