1st Trimester

did your cramping stop?

I'm almost 9 weeks, and I had cramping pretty often up until about a week ago.  Should I be worried that it stopped?  I've seen the heartbeat twice and both time everything looked great.  Now I'm afraid (after reading so many stories) that they baby stopped growing since I don't have the uterus growing pains.

  • My cramping stopped earlier this week for a few days. It came back though. Everyone says it is normal for symptoms to come and go. I didn't worry about it, and they did come back yesterday.

  • They go away after a bit... from what I remember with DS, with this pregnancy I hardly have any.
  • I've hardly experienced any cramping...and I think I'm just about 7 weeks...I hope I don't have much to be concerned about...
  • My cramping comes and goes, but has generally decreased the past couple weeks.

  • Thanks everyone.  The only other symptom that I've had is breast soreness, and that's definitely still going on.  I have another ultrasound on Monday and can't wait to see the baby again.

  • Do not worry about no cramping or cramping stopping. I am 10w1d and I have had no cramping what-so-ever. Only a little round ligament pain at 5-6 weeks. I've seen the baby with heart beat 3 times on US & everything looks perfect.

I am also comforted by my pregnancy symptoms. "Fortunately" I have lot of symptoms so if any symptom stops, there are several more to remind me that I am growing a baby in there! Ironically, I would probably worry at first if I got any cramping.

  • Cramping is one symptom that is likely to go away in 1st tri (with the others often worsening).  If all of your symptoms stopped, or if your other symptoms subsided and cramping worsened, i'd be worried, but it sounds like you are good :)  My cramping stopped around the start of week 5.
