SnugRide 35/Britax B Safe - Question

I posted the other day about needing to get a new stroller because our main stroller bit the dust (I wanted something that we could use when baby #2 comes along because we are currently TTC baby #2). We decided on the Britax B-ready and are purchasing that this weekend.

Anyways. We got a Graco travel system when DD was born and just could not get ourselves to like it. It was rarely used. I would like to sell our old Graco travel system because it is literally sitting in a closet collecting dust and it would be nice to put that money towards the Britax.  I know that the SnugRide 35 is a very highly rated car seat, but I don't know if I should keep it and just buy an adapter for the Britax stroller when the time for that comes - OR- if I should sell the entire Graco travel system and get a Britax car seat once we are PG.

I just did a very quick Google search for safety ratings and it showed the SnugRide 35 was rated #1, with the Britax B-Safe at #3.  From my understanding, if I use a Britax car seat I will not have to deal with any kind of adapters - I could just snap it in and go.

This is so much longer than I wanted it to be, sorry :) So, do I keep my #1 rated SnugRide 35 and just deal with the adapter or do I sell the whole travel system and get the B-safe seat (which is still highly rated) down the line for the ease of just snap and go?

  • With the adaptor, you will just snap in the infant seat and go.

You shouldn't buy/sell used car seats, so just keep the one you have.

  • For some reason (duh) I was thinking that I'd have to attach the adaptor each time - Well, that makes it easy then!

  • FYI, there are no actually safety ratings on carseats. Both car seats are good seats and easy to use, other than features, the only functional difference between the seats is the height and weight limits on each seat, and that the base fits in smaller spaces better.
  • I'd get the b safe, just because it is easier to use with the stroller and you would have to buy an adapter frame.
