We're waiting to see if we're in the actual path of badassness, or if we're gonna get bypassed. They always overhype these storms anyway, so I try not to get my hopes up.
Anyone else think it's stupid that they've started naming winter storms?

I did at first but then figured that people probably said the same thing when they first started naming hurricanes and now that seems normal. That was before they chose the name Nemo. Really?
I heard possibly two feet of snow but my weather app is still saying rain and possibly an inch or two of snow in the evening... As long as I'm home from work it can snow all it wants to as far as I'm concerned haha I just gotta remember to go to the grocery store! Lol

i do prefer "nemo" to "snowmageddon," though...
Touche. Although I just looked up the whole winter storm naming thing, and it's just The Weather Channel trying to "promote awareness." More like the Weather Channel trying to jack up ratings, and not being creative enough to top "Snowmageddon." Their criteria for storm naming includes "impacting populated areas"...so if it's gonna snarl traffic in Boston or NYC, let's get the panic started!
Naming hurricanes at least has a long history of attempting to avoid confusion for ships at sea amidst multiple storms.
ETA: mobile ate the little accent mark above the "e" in my touche. Sad face.
Not expecting anything in the DC area...but if we were, does it really have to come on Friday night so that we wouldn't get to benefit by days off of work? I mean really, Mother Nature, show some respect for the pregnant ladies who want the day to sleep in rather than going to work....
No idea here, we keep getting mixed reports for Northeast Pennsylvania. DH and I are planning to drive to North Carolina on Friday, so we've been tryi ng to watch the weather closely.
At first, I heard Nemo would get to us in the late afternoon. Since I usually get out of work at 2:30, I took a half day so we could try to beat the storm by leaving at 11ish. Then, I heard the snow will start around 10am, so I thought about taking a full day to leave even earlier... Now, freezing rain and sleet as early as 6am?? I have no idea what to do! I wish we could leave tonight! lol
I'm in the path for a Nemo storm but not a snow storm. Since we are team green we've been calling the baby Nemo from the beginning. Kind of funny that there is a winter storm Nemo right now.
Yup, I'm in south CT so we are expecting 2 feet of snow. I never watch the news but I heard about it from my co-workers this morning. I didn't even know it had a name lol.
I'm in western Massachusetts. We're supposed to get up to 24". I like big storms so I'm happy, but I had planned on driving down to BRU on Friday to finally pick out our car seat and now we can't!

I haven't heard of Nemo but we are expecting snow overnight and tomorrow that will certainly hurt my commute. About 4-10 inches. (I used an online converter to make them inches, it's 10-25cm)
We almost never get as much as they warn us about so I'm hopeful it won't be so bad. I can't imagine having 24 inches of snow!
EDIT I'm in Toronto, Canada and I'm glad that they aren't calling for that much snow, hopefully no one gets that much.
We're on the bottom edge of the storm (north central Pennsylvania) and I guess we're supposed to get some snow. How much is anyone's guess, I've heard 1 inch to 8 inches. I swear every "weather guesser" around here is saying something different.

I just plan on taking the whole day...too much stress trying to drive home when snow has started!
For once, DH will be home, so not only do I not have to worry about him driving in the snow, I won't have to do lots of shoveling...yay!
