So today has been just so incredibly stressful and this is quite a long winded vent, so bless you to those who read my whining.
Last week SOs transmission blew Financially we live paycheck to paycheck and being in construction, when there isn't a job he doesn't get paid so these two weeks we have had no income at all. He used the last of our money to get a tranny from a junk yard and have it put in at a shop.
Today he found out the tranny he got has cracked seals so it just pours fluid out. Ugh I hate this fing truck. So now on top of no income for two weeks rent is due today, which since I did my tax return early and was expecting it today.
By the way I lost my job in April last year and only worked "seasonal" min wage jobs this year. In lieu of losing my job my bank account was overdrawn and ultimately closed last may. At the end of this January I spoke to my old bank and they suggested I apply for their "forgiveness account" which is like a second chance. I was so excited to qualify and to feel like a real adult with a bank account again. Well when I called to see if my refund had gone through they said they'd received it but the account was frozen and ultimately being closed once they seized the money that came through today! I just started shaking and crying. I thought my debt had been "forgiven" so I didn't think I needed to continue paying the balance off of my old account.
Now I have no money for rent, groceries or dealing with SOs truck. I feel like crap. How am I going to juggle this?
Thank you for reading and I hope it made sense since I'm on mobile. Prayers would be much appreciated.
Re: Poopy day vent
Regarding the bank, that is beyond scummy. Seems like they intentionally tried to trick you into putting money in to keep it. Was the amount you were overdrawn equal or more to your refund ?? Just trying to figure out if they had any reason to keep it ALL. Honestly, you owe the money but if they closed it last year as a bad account then you have the right to settle it or make payments, and definitely not be tricked. Seems like a violation of Fair Debt Collection practices. I'd file a BBB complaint, call the local news, the local radio, whatever I could do to raise a big stink about it... Especially given your preggers status! May not get your money back but they'd get a whole lot of bad PR. Plus this thing just doesn't sound legal. Maybe other people will come forward too and something positive can come out of it for you all against this bank.
