1st tri was exhausting. I was disapppointed that I did not get the 2nd tri burst of energy that I was promised. The nesting energy in 3rd tri was awesome for the few days that it lasted. I am so tired now that I am working half days whenever possible.
Pregnancy hormones. You may find that you have energy at different times of the day. If you need to get stuff done, capitalize on energy when you have it. Otherwise, yes, pick up the extra nap and go to bed early.
It may help you to have your prenatal or iron supplement during mid morning and be sure to get a full serving of protein with your lunch. Have a snack (banana and some nuts) when you get off work.
For many women the exhaustion lessens during the 2nd tri when the placenta takes over most of it's own hormonal processes and there are lower hormone levels in your blood stream.
Oh boy... I just started week 11 and Monday was the first day since the beginning of the pregnancy that I have felt like a human being. I didn't believe it was EVER going to get better! My bones were tired--it was the most powerful exhaustion I have ever experienced since mono in college.
Hang in there! It will get better.

When I was in my 1st tri I felt like a walking zombie! I was always so tired and to make matters worse I had all-day morning sickness. I don't know how I made it through because I could barely function. I teach at a community college and there were so many days that I didn't do a very good job teaching because I felt horrible.
Now I'm in my 2nd tri and I still get tired but it isn't as bad as the 1st tri. I think a combination of cutting back on the caffeine and being busy with a full-time job and teenagers is adding to the tiredness.
