Hey ladies - Thank you so much for thinking of us today and yesterday.
DD2 is back to her normal self, but the doctors wanted to keep her under observation for a little longer, so she's spending the night in the hospital (with Monsieur Ha) again ![]()
She had her EEG today and hopefully we can get the results and/or meet with the neurologist tomorrow.
The pediatrician in charge of her brought another hypothesis to the table today. He mentioned that sometimes, people experience something that is similar to a migraine, but in the form of throwing up instead of a headache. He didn't say that was the case with DD2, but it is a diagnosis he might consider, depending on the results from the EEG.
We finally got rid off DD2's IV this afternoon. Yay! She hadn't complained about it, but she was a much happier baby once we took it out. After spending the better part of the day in bed or sitting in my or DH's lap, she was ready to get up and get moving again!

Only problem is she is now VERY suspicious of any and all medical personnel and cries whenever one of the staff tries to get near her ![]()
We had some very special visitors today: two of DD2's daycare teachers came by to say hi and even brought her a few surprises (ok seriously, how seet are they!)
Since DD2 is pretty much back to her normal self, we let DD1 come and visit tonight. We all had dinner together, which was quite the challenge considering the space we had (sorry crappy cell phone pic, but you get the idea)

Then the girls even took their bath together.

I am glad DD1 got to see her little sister tonight. She asked about her a lot when we got up this morning, and then she didn't want to go to DC because she wanted to see her. She still cried that she wanted "her baby" to come home before going to bed, but at least she knows her sister is fine.
I'm headed back to the hospital tomorrow morning, but I'm really hoping I get to take my baby home this time.
Thanks again for all the love and T&P's - I truly appreciate them
Re: Update
Well, I'm super glad to hear that your LO is feeling better. Hopefully you can get some answers from the EEG. Fingers crossed!
Make sure you ask a lot of questions about the condition the pediatrician brought up. I'm curious to know what they say. DD1 has Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome, a form of migraine that also affects her stomach and causes her to vomit. The name is pretty self-explanatory, it's a cyclic thing. She'll be fine for a couple of months and then wake up feeling sick with a pounding headache and vomit periodically for approximately half of the day. Then she's back to her normal self. But it follows a pretty distinct pattern and she's a pretty textbook case, and it sounds a little different from what's happening to your LO. I know there's a more severe form of it, but I still am not sure it quite fits. I just wouldn't want them to smack that diagnosis on your babe and it be incorrect, and then you unknowingly run the risk of having the actual thing undiagnosed and untreated. DD1 has never, ever had an episode like your LO. You've got to get the right answer, for sure!
Good luck to you, lots of hugs and snuggles for your bebes, and T&P all-around for you and the fam!
// I love you too. //
I'm so glad she's feeling better, and I hope that they figure out what's going on!
T&Ps!
I can't imagine the whirlwind the last two days have been. I hope you get to bring her home tomorrow and life can resume some normalcy.
The girls look so happy that they're together. Sisterly love! and she couldn't look any cuter in that tiny hospital gown.
Well she is a adorable patient.
My GF's daughter has Cystic fibrosis and anytime someone is very nice whom she does not know that comes up to her she cries because of all the needles she has had with nurses and them being so nice. So I am sure that is why your LO did the same. Kids/Babies are smart.
I am so glad her sis got to see her. Lets them know everything is ok.
Sending more T&P's and Big hugs.
She is such a trooper! You all are, actually. It sounds like the doctors just want to be thorough, which suuuuucks to go through, but just hang in there. Your girls are adorable together. DD1 seems so protective of her baby. They are both going to just gush over their baby brother. Anyways, thanks for updating. I hope you were all able to get some sleep last night. And hopefully DD2 will be back home today.
