How long did this take you LO's. We just did this today and nap has turned into playtime. They are in and out of bed, one is running back and forth and jumping into bed with the other, getting books, etc. I am hoping that this is just an adjustment period they need to go through. And please let this not effect there bedtime. They were great sleepers and hope that they still will be! Any insight would be great!
Re: How long did toddler bed transition take
My experience with toddler beds and naps is that if you want them to sleep, you either have to separate them or sit in the room until they fall asleep. There are just way too many distractions and fun possibilities otherwise.
There have only been a few times when they've fallen asleep at nap time when I wasn't in the room, and those were when they were crazy exhausted from swimming.
Yeah, the night time transition lasted about 1-2 nights. The first night one DD fell asleep crying in front of the door. The next night she was in the bed just fine. The other DD was fine starting on that first night. It doesn't mean that we don't have nights were they want to stay up playing, but overall they do okay, particularly if I turn off the light (sometimes I leave it on a timer for a little while so they can read).
Naps, on the other hand, weren't great before the toddler bed transition and they really tanked afterwards. I had to separate mine if I wanted them to sleep too.
