MIL Vent

This is a first.  I love my MIL and have actually never vented about her before, but I'm so annoyed right now.

We had made plans for my MIL to come down this weekend to spend some time with us and see our little guy since she hasn't seen him since Christmas.  She was going to come in on Friday and leave Monday.

I just found out she and FIL changed her flight to NEXT weekend without consulting with us.  I was taking a 5 day weekend that weekend to spend time with my DS after his 4 month shots.  If he follows the same path he took after his 2 month shots he's not going to want anyone but me for 3 or 4 days after the shots.  He wouldn't even look at DH for a couple of days after his 2 month shots.

Who changes travel plans without first talking to the people they are visiting!?  It's not a huge deal, but I have had a rough week dealing with working and DS being in daycare so I was really looking forward to my long weekend with him.  I'm just disappointed.  Crying

    Yeah, I emailed my DH because I'm not even sure he knows about it yet.  We'll probably talk tonight and figure out if we are going to address it.  I have been planning this long weekend with DS since December!

    This would defiantly irritate me. But if you can't change it, roll with it. Make her clean and cook while you hold your baby. Act like you just got out of the hosp. Or like I was when I got out. And then emphasize the need to keep in contact regarding schedules.

    Unfortunately no.  Our well-child visits usually need to be booked at least a month out (or more).  The fun of an urban area where all doctors have way too many patients.
