Hi ladies! We are going to the beach with my family when LO will be around 14 weeks old. Did anyone go to the beach last summer (June) with your baby? What were your "must have" items. I am trying to plan ahead. Thank you!

Re: Beach Trip ? From March 13
We took DD to the beach for a week and a half in June. We used a large tent to keep her under the whole time... although three times the whole week we did bring her down to the water and let her stand while holding our hands as the "waves" came in.
We got the best bonnet from H&M which we used often.
Long sleeve fleece wearable blanket.. it did get chilly with the breeze at times, especially if she was wet from the water or from the shower on the beach because she had pooped through her diaper and clothes yet again and needed to be cleaned off... anyway it kept her warm and she she slept very well in that.
You could use the stroller like a PP suggested, but we used a child sized cot that folds up like a beach chair for her to nap on... it is much smaller and easier to set up than the pack-n-play which is where she slept at night.
Although sunblock is supposed to be a no-no at that age, the pediatrician recommended California Babies - he said the molecules in that one were too large to be absorbed into their skin - however I am aware that not all pediatricians agree so I would check with yours. We only used it occasionally when we were on the beach for 8+ hours because some sun still reflects off the beach under the umbrella.
To me, summer = mosquitos. We actually wound up not needing it on that vacation, but I have used it other times, I always bring my netting for the stroller.
DD was born March 29th, and we went to the beach in the middle of June.
A pop up beach tent is a MUST. They cannot wear sunscreen at that point in time because they're too little, so they really can't be exposed to the sun. We also got a big floppy hat for me and for her as well. That way I could nurse on the beach. In addition, we bought a little battery powered fan to keep her cooler. The pop up one is a little nicer because you don't have to put it together each time... it just "pops up"
We used an extra beach towel to "hold" down the tent a little better and add some weight. Those were really the only extra things we had. We did lug our big huge graco stroller on the beach. It was nice to have lots of places to stick things. DD pretty much hung out in the tent. She did great though!
Here's 2 pics of her set up:
