Buying carseat sight unseen?

Any day now, DD will outgrow her infant seat & I've been doing research on convertible carseats. The Diono Radian keeps popping up on my searches and I'm very interested. However, the closest store that sells them is 5 hours away! It doesn't seem worth it to drive 10 hours to "maybe" make a purchase. Any ideas? Should I just buy online and pay return shipping fees if necessary?

FYI- the reason I like the Radian is because DD is very tall (93%) and we've been told it should fit nicely in our Acura TL.

What do you think? Buy online? Or buy something I can actually experience in-store? Suggestions?

I'm nervous about looking to them myself. I have a small car and i need two one for my car and one for husbands. So price is a factor and size.

This one looks not bad at all. If you been dong research, have you tried any in store first? Maybe try some other brands in store and if they are similar or you still not sure order the one online.

I have a Raidian RXT and love it!!! I have a very tall DD 98.7 percentile and she fits great in it at 18 months. When she rides with my mom they have a grace snug ride she is so cramped with her legs. In the radian she is very comfortable!!
It's the only steel frame on the market and boosters up to 120 lbs.
I bought mine online. I googled the seat and then used the shopping section of google, I found the best price and ordered from them.
I will be ordering another one very soon for DD2!
Also if you plan on 3 kids that will all be in a seat or booster at the same time I suggest these! You can fit 3 across a seat!
I drive a Kia sorento and I did have to pull my seat up a goodbit so I bought an angle adjusted for 10 dollars from amazon and it worked great.

I'd be afraid. Hubby and I took LO to babies r us to check out the seat I was convinced we would buy. When I put LO in the seat, the bottom buckle height was really short and dug into his thighs. No way to adjust it up, and that was a deal breaker for me. He is only going to get bigger. It was one of the graco seats. Based on that, I'd be apprehensive about purchasing sight unseen without testing it.

Lurking from my BMB, but thought I'd respond. I recently bought the Diono Radian RXT from Amazon.com and love it. If you get it from Amazon you should be able to return it without an issue. Shipping did seem slow, I think it took 2 weeks but I had ordered it shortly after Christmas. My 20 lb 26 inch 4 month old loves it. I did find that it does not fit in our Audi though, so I am currently looking for another option for the car. I really wish it worked though because I like it so much.

I just bought a Diono Radian sight unseen. I LOVE it. It works really well in my truck, and we are able to have three carseats in the backseat-the Radian and two other, wider convertibles.

We only have a few carseats in the local stores, so I have been stuck buying all of my carseats online...
