Amazingly, this process seem to be moving forward for us but it definitely feels like it's happening at a snail's pace. For those of you who have done DE, how long was it from the time you matched with a donor to your transfer date? For those of you who are somewhere in the process, what have you been told about timing? Also, did you go through an agency or your clinic's data base?
We officially matched through an agency two weeks ago and our clinic approved last week. Our donor still has to go to our clinic for a full work up and the earliest appointment they have is mid-March. At this point, we're looking at a transfer in April or May. We are considering traveling to the clinic where our donor cycled last time but it depends on how much time we can shave off the entire process. I know two months doesn't seem like a lot but I feel like we've been at this for a lifetime. TIA!
Re: DE timing?
I hear you on the moving like a "snail's pace". At my clinic I am on a 6 month waiting list. 3 months down but just got told I'm number 11 on the list..whatever that means. Started this process last March (another RE before this) and I'm running out of patience!
I"m on a "shared" cycle so who knows how long I will get matched after I'm off the waiting list. Hopefully the other couple and I will like the first donor we are shown. This is the bad part because it takes longer. Good luck to you. Waiting is always hard. I guess I really can't answer your question!
ME:46 MH:44 DE IVF 2014
Met with RE 4/11. 2 IUI's BFN. DE best option. Switched clinics to do "shared" program. Had to retake all tests and a mamm that put me behind and then on a DE waiting list for 12 months. Picked a donor!! (10/13/13) Got matched. Estimated transfer in December. After 2.5 years of patiently waiting I will finally cycle....can hardly believe it. DE cycle got cancelled. One of her tests came back positive. Waiting for another donor. Donor picked!! (1/18/14)
DE IVF #1 (4/26) BFN DE FET #1 (6/4) BFP! Beta 1=339 Beta 2=852 Beta 3=9957 EDD 2/22/15!!
I admit that now looking back, my DE process moved rather quickly about 2.5 months from the very start of reviewing profiles to retrieval, using a donor from the agency I ultimately chose. However, I can totally relate to how slow it feels when you're going through the process....and there are often unforeseen delays (like when my donor tested positive for MTHFR, we decide to also test my husband for it).
I was fortunate, because my twice proven donor had recently cycled, so some of her initial tests were already completed. However, I did have to wait for her to be "medically cleared" from her last donor cycle.
Also, I did not go with the first agency I looked into. I had done quite a bit of research (frozen vs. fresh) and once I decided to go with fresh, I looked at profiles from a few agencies. I quickly figured out I had to relax some of my criteria, in order to find a decent match. In the end, I actually wound up with what I felt was a "perfect" donor for me.
Wishing you the best of luck, as you continue on this journey.
(Edited to add: I'm so very sorry for your late loss....big HUGS to you!)

Welcome to the group! I also am so sorry for your late loss. I'm so happy that DE is bringing you some well-deserved hope!
We went through Shady Grove fertility which has a big donor egg program and an in-house donor pool. We had our phone consult with them in April of 2010 and cycled that August, so I guess it was 4 months. We were in a 1:2 split cycle program, but the matching process still went quickly because the donors seems to get selected pretty fast after they are added to the database.
I wish you all the best moving forward!

So it looks like our timing isn't crazy long - maybe just a bit long. Our first appointment with the RE about DE was in November, we matched end of January and we'll probably cycle in May. Six months from start to finish (or beginning, so to speak). We looked intro traveling closer to our donor but it doesn't look like it would save us much more than a month. Now we sit and wait which, of course, we're used it. Thank you all!
And thank you all for your thoughts and hugs for our late loss.
I did a mock cycle in March last year, chose my in house donor at the same time, and transfer was complete at the end of June. So, about 3 months. GL! So exciting!
ETA: I made my first inquiry with the clinic, SDFC, in Feb, so it was about 4 months from start to finish.
