Gliding recliner recommendations

Hi all,

Do any of you have a recliner that also glides?  In B's room, we have a glider that reclines, which is nice...  and we want to keep it in her room for quite a while since that's where we read before bed.  For the new baby's room, we're looking into a more plush option.

MH will be off from teaching for the summer and wants to be more hands on at night.  The gliding recliner is his preference.

I have found some nice ones by a company called Little Castle, but they seem pricey >$700.

Any suggestions in the $300-$500 range?

I can't remember the exact name of ours, but it's a Shermag reclining upholstered glider. It's really comfortable and was only 400. I definitely recommend it if YH will be using it since it has a high back. MH is 6'3" and he can lean his head back and sleep in it. The upholstery has held up really well and still looks like new. It glides smoothly and doesn't squeak.

Thanks Woodsie.  MH is looking for a recliner that glides as opposed to a glider that reclines.  Does that makes sense?  Is this what that is?  I have a Dutailier glider that reclines and his issue is that it doesn't recline far enough.

  • THANKS!  That's the kind I was talking about.  This is the kind I have, so yes, you are right on.

  • I have one from Bellini that I love! It is so comfortable and doesn't look like it belongs in a nursery. They have a pretty good selection of fabrics too. I think it was about $800, but if you tell them you want a discount, they will usually take 20% off.
