DD2 is in the hospital. They are keeping her for the night and DH is staying there with her.
Here's the tl;dr
DH called me at work a little after 10AM. He told me I needed to go pick up DD2 from daycare right away. The tone of his voice sounded pretty alarming, so I left work right away. I made a quick stop at home to grab the diaper bag, and was at DC within 15 minutes.
When I got there, I almost lost it: there was an ambulance and a police car parked at the door - both with their roof lights flashing. I ran inside only to hear DD2 wailing hysterically. The paramedics then told me what the situation was.
DD2 was sitting at a table when her teacher noticed her head hanging to one side - to a point where it looked like her neck wasn't able to support it anymore. She just switched classes last week, so her teacher called the DC director to ask her if that was typical of DD2. While director was there, DD2's eyes started rolling back in her head. They were afraid she was going to fall and hurt herself so they laid her down on the floor. (By then, they had already called DH) Her whole body was limp and while she was still conscious, they couldn't get her to respond to anything. So they called 911 and tried everything they could to keep her awake. She then started throwing up. And then the police and the paramedics got there. And that's how things were when I got there (note: I realize now that the police car was only there to follow procedure, but I was really freaked out when I first saw it there - I thought for sure someone was suspected of having done something terrible to my baby girl).
DH arrived at DC 5 - 10 minutes after me, and we decided to take DD to the hospital. We waited in the ER for about 4 hours and DD2 spent the entire time alternating between sleeping and throwing up. Her general state left the doctors both stomped and concerned, especially since she seems to be having such an episode every 2 months or so (her last one was Dec. 3rd) so they decided to run a bunch of test - she had blood drawn, an EKG, a brain scan, and a lumbar puncture.
Everything came back clear but they wanted to keep her overnight under observation. I wanted to stay with her, but DH made it clear he wasn't leaving her side (well, he used the excuse that I am pregnant, but I know he was just really worried). They are going to do an EEG tomorrow to see if perhaps she could be having mini seizures. I would love for them to find out what's wrong with my baby, but I must admit the word seizure sounds pretty scary right now.
DD2 finally came to at around 6, and it was like nothing had happened. The nurse brought her dinner. I was hesitant to give her anything to eat, but kid was hungry, so I started off with a few bites of applesauce, and fed her realllllly slowly. She kept everything down and just started acting like her good old, chipper self.
As for DD1, our awesome neighbour picked her up from DC and kept her until I came home at around 8. I tried my best to play the whole situation down, telling her DD2 was spending the night at the doctor's because it was taking too long, but I could tell she knew something was up. She was really worried about her sister ("I don't want my baby to be at the doctor's!"). Thankfully DH called from the hospital and DD1 was able to "talk" to her sister on the phone. That seemed to ease her mind some. I have a feeling this won't be an easy night though...
Sorry I wrote such a novel. I will at least end this on a happy note: here's DD2 telling me "Mama, even these toys taste better than hospital food!"

Re: My baby is in the hospital :(
Hope you're able to get some answers and that your bebe is home and comfy soon. *hugs*
// I love you too. //
She does look happy in the pic, they bounce back crazy fast, don't they?
I really hope nothing serious is going on with your sweet girl. Sending all my tp's.
Thanks ladies. It really helps that she was acting like herself again by the time I left.
This is the 3rd time I bring her in for (what seems to be) the same thing, but they've never been so thorough before. At least this time, I know that if they don't find anything, it won't be because they didn't look.
I cannot imagine the crazy ride your mind must be on right now trying to figure out what's wrong with her. Holy hell!! I am SOOO SOOO sorry you don't already have answers. Here's hoping that some diagnostic finds something so that you guys have some peace of mind. Ugh... I cannot even fathom the fear that you must have felt. We will be thinking of you guys. Please update when you can!!
Sending you hugs.
They did twice, and it was fine (her numbers were 4.8 and 5.6, which they said were perfect).
I just spoke with DH. She was happily babbling in the background
. Her EEG will be sometime between 9AM and 3PM today.
Thanks again for the T&P's and well wishes. I will keep you guys posted as soon as I know more.

Hope you get an answer. That would be the worst part for me is not knowing why. Prayers your way!
Glad she looks so happy in the pic. . . and look at that bump!
I got so scared and teary reading that, I can't even imagine how you and DH are feeling. I'm glad DD is all smiles and acting like her normal, sweet self. I really hope you can get some answers later today. It's awful hanging out in limbo, just waiting.
Will DD1 get to visit her sister today? Poor girl, must have been worried. Give them both (and yourself) hugs and keep us updated.
