Parenting after a Loss

Single stroller that converts to a double suggestions???

I have been trying to do some research and my head is just spinning, lol.  I currently have a 3 year old (almost 3 1/2) and Miles who is almost 2 months.  On top of this I will be nannying part time for a girl who is now 10 1/2 months.  My daughter can pretty much walk everywhere, but I would like to have a seat for her in case we go somewhere with a ton of walking, but typically will use the double for my baby and the girl I will be nannying.  I was originally looking at the City Select, but would prefer something more compact since I will be using the second seat for my part time job/as a backup for my daughter.  There are several Phil and Ted strollers that look good, possibly the Britax B-Ready, or the UPPAbaby Vista with Rumbe seat... Am I missing any?  Does anyone have any reccomendations?  Opinions?  Experience with any of these??? Thank you!

  • I have been looking at doubles. I would get the Baby Jogger City Select. It's the only one that has decent second seat conversion layouts. I didn't like the others with how the second seat looks like it's under the other seat or facing the other seat. Not cool.

  • esd- is it super bulky?  on top of everything else, I don't have a full minivan (i have a mazda 5 that can seat up to 6 but then has no trunk space) and i have read reviews that it's hard to find space for it in the car.

nana- that one was my favorite, but i am actually looking for the type that has the seat underneath because i think i will be using the stroller at a single a lot and the city select is a bit bulky just as a single.  my cousin has this stroller and adores it, but she uses it as a double all of the time.

  • I have a friend that has the Britax, but I don't like where the 2nd seat goes.  My preference would be the City Select.  It is all around my favorite double stroller, but way out of my price range.

  • I have the uppa baby vist and love it so far.  I only looked at strollers that were able to convert to doubles.  The only down side is that you do have to remove the second seat to fold it down.

  • I have a Joovy Caboose Ultralight. I originally got a double with DD and it's worked great as a single stroller. DD just started sitting on the back for fun so I think it will work well as a double but I obv. haven't used it as that yet.

  • I almost bought the city select double because we are planning on having another kid. I ended up getting the city select single though because we don't know when we will have LO #2 and like you said it was definitely more bulky. Sorry not that helpful!

  • Thanks for the input ladies!  I like the Joovy Caboose Ultralight, but don't think it would work yet when I am putting in M and the 10 1/2 month old girl I will be nannying. It would be perfect if it was just my kids though...

  • Hey this may not apply to you anymore because your baby is almost grown out of a car seat but we converted our single jogging stroller to a double stroller. This is how we did ithttps://hubbard2010.wordpress.com/2013/10/11/convert-a-single-stroller-to-double-stroller/
  • I wanted to say Hi @auki13 and I am interested in this since I need something for Jackson and his soon to be sister. I was looking at the britax B-Ready but my cousin told me to look into the city select. I want to physically push them to decide.

  • I was going to say City Select. I love mine and use it every day for my twins, but you are right, it's not compact.
