STMs

How are you keeping up with your LOs? By this time in the afternoon I am physically beat. I just sat on the couch and am trying to figure out how to pry myself off it to make dinner.

  • Pry is a great word choice. There are times I have to decide how much longer my bladder can make it so I do not have to get up yet.. Sad but true!

  • You make dinner? DS and are living on sandwiches, Mac and cheese with veggies, cereal, and gumbo frozen at Christmas. Lol. It's pointless for me to cook. Sometimes he eats and sometimes he refuses.

  • I am a pathetic mother these days.  Luckily my kids are good about playing with each other so I don't need to get on the floor too often.  My hubs takes over a lot once he gets home and I just relax.

  • It's rough lol. I try to get him out of the house and burn off energy in the morning when I still feel ok. Then he naps from 1-3 and I usually try to rest then to get enough energy to make dinner. DH tries to keep him occupied once he gets home, or we play playdoh, color, or some other quiet activity.

  • I would totally settle for cereal, but DH would not lol.

  • I try to cook a big casserole or pot of soup on Sunday that will last us several dinners.  That will usually gets us to Wednesday-ish, and the rest of the weekly dinners are either really easy (hot dogs, nacho's, mac & cheese, etc) or eat out.

I have no energy to really "play" anymore and I feel like a horrible mother.  I sit on the couch and have her bring me things to play with.  I try to keep in mind she won't remember this time, but I do.  I almost feel guilty being pregnant at this point. Huh?

I did the same when DH was still here as far as cooking. I just keep promising LO that after I have the baby we will have lots and lots of fun.

  • We have done a lot of delivery and take out recently.  I work full time and pick things up on my way home.  My 2 year old son thinks it is awesome...pizza on Monday, noodles with fruit on Tuesday....he loves it.  It is repetitive but I don't have the energy to do much more.

  • I cook dinner 5 or 6 nights a week.  DD goes to MDO twice a week, so on those days I only cook breakfast and dinner.  I'm tired, but stuff still has to be done.  I would prefer to cook my own food than eat junk or eat out.  I try to rest during DD's nap on the days she is home, and knock out all of the other stuff while she is at MDO.  IDK, I guess me being really tired is just the norm now?
  • I'm only 31 weeks but have totally been feeling like a crappy mom as well! I'm SO tired all of the time and don't have a lot of energy for floor play. She's 22 months and doesn't have a sibling to play with which means she wants all of my attention. I've been trying to do learning activities on my computer with her so that she can sit on the couch with me and she has been watching more TV than I like. I just trying to keep reminding myself that I won't be this crappy of a mom for forever.

  • Floor play is almost out of the question. I can play for a few minutes and then I have to get up and sprawl on the couch. DS loves books, thankfully, so we read a lot. I'm also letting him watch more TV then usual so I can relax or nap. I'm not doing too bad with dinner. I do try to make enough so that we have leftovers and we've been doing a lot of easy soups and pizza, etc.

  • Toddler Apps on our Ipad has been my savior lately.  I'm so beat after teaching all day.  I feel bad but after dealing with kids all day, I just don't have much left for my own kid at the end of the day :(  I feel like if I could just get a 30 minute nap every afternoon, I'd be a much better mom during this pregnancy....too bad for me I guess because that's so not going to happen!

  • We still have two naps a day so I nap during his short one and do housework during the second one.  I also sit on the floor and let him bring toys to me to play with.

  • It's been tough, but DH has helped a lot.  He usually makes us food and cleans up after so I just sit on the floor and play with DD.  Bending down is difficult so I just sit or lie down near her and read to her a lot.  If she runs away, I don't chase her but usually she'll come right back if she knows I'm not following her.
