Sorry, no due date list today. I've got a headache. I guess that's my pregnancy update, I'm getting headaches now for the first time in my life. Other than that things are progressing. I can't believe I'll be 18wks tomorrow which is basically 1/2 way there for the average twin pregnancy!

Re: Pregnancy Check In
I'm great, as noted below. A little sick of aches, heartburn, rough sleeping, and too many doc appointments, but it is so close to a break from all that is old and a crash course is something new. Yay!

So sorry about the headaches!!!
I am super battling morning sickness (although I know it could be worse), especially for the last week. It's pretty much constant and I totally threw up in front of a coworker in our parking garage. I literally couldn't help it! It was weird/awful. I'm just eating what I think I can get down for now. Dr. Appt in the morning for an u/s and I'm sure I'll be giving up some of my blood for something as well. I'm hoping to released to the regular OB tomorrow too! S is so awesome to me and really helping out with some of my usual chores/responsibilities. She's also been very helpful when I get sick too. I'm very thankful.
We had our anatomy scan this morning, and according to the tech everything looked 'normal'. We have to wait for the final results from a radiologist, but it was good to see that little 4 ventricled heart, kidneys and umbilical cord doing what they need to do.
In other news, I nearly gave v heart failure this week by jumping up out of my chair and screaming loudly while we were watching tv. I had my hand on my tummy and he had kicked me really hard. Because I wasn't focusing on my belly it really startled me. Very funny though!
I'm sorry to hear about the headaches and sickness! Sending some calm and healing thoughts your way.
I'm doing really well. Entering the second tri, the nausea is behind me (knock wood), my fatigue is lifting a bit in that I can skip a nap and sleep early instead, and my overall energy (and ahem sex ahem drive) is returning.
We've registered for our out-of-hospital childbirth education series, and we just need to make a decision on our midwife. One major set-back to our budget is that we need a new furnace - not cool. On the plus side though, C got a promotion to a new position that means a high increase in our income that came just at the right time for the pregnancy and this homeowner expense.
I'm late to the party this week, but things are going okay here - baby boy is still inside, so that's good!
I've had mixed success with the working from home gig. I can't honestly say that it has reduced my stress level at all, which was the point, but it has definitely reduced my activity level. I have an appointment on Thursday and we'll reassess at that point. For now, I'm just going to try to enjoy being in the house that I simultaneously love and am frustrated by. And I'll do my best to take advantage of making those hours NOT spent commuting count by getting stuff done!
I can't believe how close I'm getting. And I can't believe the lack of progress on all of those things that we were supposed to get "Taken care of" before the birth. Hah! I fully anticipate that we will STILL have a harder time getting the dog down at night than we will the baby. Ah well. It's my life, I'd better love it!

Hi all! Nice to see all your updates.
Overall things are good here except I caught a wicked cold on a flight the other day and am missing modern medicine. Home remedies are helping - and of course I will survive.
I did have a tiny bit of a bleeding scare last night. I called my midwife right away and she told me that the blood vessels on your cervix (and, incidentally, your nose) get big and can pop with pressure. Which lead her to ask if I'd been coughing a lot...and I have. So she said, in the absence of other symptoms of a m/c, we'd just chock it up to that. And, no blood since. Phew.
It was a sobering moment, I've just been so positive that this baby wants to be born...I felt really scared and vulnerable - J was out at the gym so I was alone. Thankfully our midwife was on it, called back immediately, was reassuring but honest, responsive, not rushed, and empathtic. That was nice to see in action
It definitely solidified our decision.
We have our NT scan on Friday and we are getting the Cell-Free DNA screening (like the Materni21 test) mostly because J is so flipping antsy to know the gender. I am not super concered with genetic issues since we used a young, sparkle-pony donor egg. If all goes well, we will know the gender of our baby in a couple/few weeks. I would've been happy to be team green, but I am excited for J to know since it is so important to her!
We are getting legally married on April 20th! We are getting a giant question-mark shaped pinata and filling it with either blue or pink for the kids to break open at the reception and reveal the baby's gender to all! Though, we aren't sure how we will manage to keep it secret until then from our moms/sisters who are antsy to know! But I am determined!

Thanks! I'll be 21 weeks and originally we thought we'd find out that week at our A/S scan and I was going to be in the dark too, J was going to stuff the pinata...but her holding that secret for 7-8 weeks seemed impossible. So we'll know but no one but no one else will. We're excited!
