Babies: 0 - 3 Months

STMs labor timing?

I'm currently trying to field family requests as to appropriate visit times after DS is born (they need to buy plane tickets) and was wondering about the likelyhood of the baby being early or late based upon previous labor experiences?  Basically, DD was early so I'm wondering if DS will be early too.

So my question for the STMs, if LO1 was early/late, did LO2 also come early/late?

Thanks ladies!  And congrats!! Big Smile

  • All of my labors have been early, three right around 38 weeks and the last at 37wk1d.

My labors sped up quite a bit too, with the first being 27 hours and the last being just 45 minutes.

Kelly, Mom to Christopher Shannon 9.27.06, Catherine Quinn 2.24.09, Trey Barton lost on 12.28.09, Therese Barton lost on 6.10.10, Joseph Sullivan 7.23.11, and our latest, Victoria Maren 11.15.12

Secondary infertility success with IVF, then two losses, one at 14 weeks and one at 10 weeks, then success with IUI and then just pure, crazy luck.  Expecting our fifth in May as the result of a FET.

  • My first 2 were born at exactly 37 weeks. They are not twins and were not induced. We were certain, midwife included, that our 3rd would be early too. I even dropped at 35 weeks. But she arrived at 39 weeks 4 days. My dates were all accurate since I chart. There really is no way of knowing. However my labors did get shorter.
  • First was 39w6d and the second was 39w1d.

Both times my water broke and both times there was no labor progression from where I initially began, and I needed pitocin. From there, L&D was 12 hours from start to finish with DS, and 5 hours with #2.

  • I was charting, so I know the exact day I ovulated.  Both babies came at 40w3d.
  • Baby 1 - 41 weeks 5 days, induced

    Baby 2 - 41 weeks exactly, natural

  • FB was at 38 weeks 2 days, second born the day before my due date, both under 12 hours. I really don't know if there is a correlation between the first and second, my mom wanted to fly in from Alaska, but didn't want to be too early and miss it, so now she is coming during my siblings spring break. I basically said whenever they are comfortable with coming in, and once I got settled in to the swing of things again.
