Today, I had a big scare. I went to the bathroom at work to find I was bleeding bright red. I rushed to the RE and she found baby was fine. However, I have a blood clot she hadn't seen before. RE said to expect bleeding for a week and to pass a clot.
does anyone have any experience with this?

Re: Blood clot in early pregnancy Q...
There are tons of stories of women who have had blood clots and bleeding and everything worked out just fine. They are called subchorionic hemotomas and you'll see them abbreviated to sch. Typically they can tell from an ultrasound if the clot you have will be problematic (say if it's located behind the placenta as opposed to somewhere else far away from the baby). Most often it's just like your doctor said, you'll bleed some more and either pass the clot or it will just be reabsorbed.
The bleeding can be super scary so don't hesitate to call and ask for another ultrasound if you need reassurance. I hope your clot resolves soon.
Kelly, Mom to Christopher Shannon 9.27.06, Catherine Quinn 2.24.09, Trey Barton lost on 12.28.09, Therese Barton lost on 6.10.10, Joseph Sullivan 7.23.11, and our latest, Victoria Maren 11.15.12
Secondary infertility success with IVF, then two losses, one at 14 weeks and one at 10 weeks, then success with IUI and then just pure, crazy luck. Expecting our fifth in May as the result of a FET.
This Cluttered Life
I had a really big one with DS. My bleeding started at 10 weeks 2 days (complete with fun trip to the ER on a weekend) and continued off and on through 20 weeks. I'd say I bled out the majority of it and about 1/3 sealed itself off and reabsorbed.
2 years, 2 surgeries, 2 clomid fails, 2 IUIs, 1 loss, IVF #1 - 10/25/10 = BFP!, DS is now 3.5yrs!
TTC #2 - 6/12 surgery #3, FET #1 & 1.2 = BFN, 12/2012 FET #2 = BFP! DD is 1.5 yrs!
Surprise! 12/16/14 BFP, loss #2 12/31/14
I can't wait for the "im getting a divorce" post in 5 years or so because your husbands were fed up with your disgusting chair asses from playing on the knot all day and getting fired 4-5 times for not doing any work. you guys are all winners!! ~ Laur929
All of this. Im one of those ladies. I bled from 8 weeks to 18 weeks and went to the dr or ER every time. DS is now 19 mos old. HTH.
Thanks for the responses. RE said the blood clot was far enough away from the baby that it shouldn't cause any problems.
Thanks for the insight. It is much appreciated.
