A name like Miles

Miles was our boy name, I"m not sure if I"m still feeling it. I see it everywhere now, and I prefer to, well....not.

What are some names that have a similar feel?

LN is long, starts with R, sounds German.

Perhaps one that sounds good with the MN Simon?

Other names we tossed around last time: Thaddeus, Wyatt, Wesley, John, Henry

We considered Miles for awhile but we decided to go with Abram. I still love Miles, but I wish it wasn't so popular.

Is it really that popular? I hear Wesley, Wyatt, and Henry WAY more often. Maybe it's my location. Also, when you're considering a name, you DO hear it more often. It's like when your ex-boyfriend drives a blue truck and you swear he is EVERYwhere. (only happened to me? oh. but you get my point, right?)

Ooh Abram is nice, I like that.

DH's uncle was Henry, the family isn't so keen on having another Henry R. since the uncle has passed on. Would be a MN more likely. I LOVE Hank but that is what the uncle went by.

I much prefer Miles to Milo. I like Simon and it has the same feel to me. I've always loved Henry. What about Elliott or Ian?

I like both Elliot and Ian. DH was supposed to be Ian but my MIL changed last minute. I am not sure I want to use her backup name? FIL's MN is Elliot, so that would be a nice nod to family. I also have a cousin who I see often named Elliot, and DH's BFF's son is Elliot too but we see them....never. So I do like both, you are on the same page....but those in particular probably won't work?

Before I got to the 4th line of your post, I thought of Simon. So that was going to be my first suggestion before seeing you liked it for a middle name! I find Miles and Simon very similar for some reason. The only other name I can think of that I think wasn't suggested is Spencer.
