I have16 month old twin girls. Both are very congested right now. Everyone tells me to incline one side of their mattress for better drainage, but am I the only ones who have kids that move all over their crib at night? I could incline one end but by the middle of the night they will be at the bottom and not getting the help of the inclined mattress. Am I missing something???

This! Also, I recommend Vicks on their feet with socks on. Also Vicks in their chest and backs too.
I think it has roots in medicinal old wives tale about thoughts on circulation or systemic absorption via the feet. A lot of cultures put weird stuff on feet or soak the feet for whole body healing purposes.
Ha! I always thought it was on the feet with socks so LOs couldn't put it in their mouths. Now that I think of DD's flexibility, I guess that wouldn't stop a baby.

It's witchcraft. That's what it is. It only works if they don't have a sore throat or dry cough but for a regular cold, works like a charm.
That's basically it. I don't know if it works or why it would work, but I've heard it helps so I do it when I'm sick out of desperation (even though I'm a scientist and I should know better).
