I'm trying not to be the worrying mom, but I'm starting to worry that I'm letting this go to far. This has been DDs sick week (first since she was born).
Mon: Runny nose, not a fever but a raised temp.
Tues: Temp fine, still really runny nose, decreased appetite.
Wed: Temp fine, runny nose, mild cough started, decreased appetite
Thurs: Runny nose, raspy frequent cough, eating better
Fri: Runny nose, raspy cough, eating fine, but weezy breathing.
Sat: Runny nose, raspy cough (not as frequent), eating fine, still weezy.
Sun: Runny nose, cough almost gone (more frequent at night), still weezy.
Mon: Slighly runny nose, cough only early AM and late PM, still weezy.
It's the weezing that's bothering me. I'm getting worried that this simple cold has turned into something deep in her lungs. Her temp has not been high since last Monday. Her personality has been 100% the same. She hasn't been more tired, or whiney or anything really which suprised me. She went to daycare on Friday 10-3 and the teachers did not seem concerned at all and said her weezing was better during the day but I noticed it was back at night. I called my mom Friday morning before daycare and she said she thought DD was fine when she heard her over the phone; she figured it was just because DD had just woken up and was phlemy.
My mom, her teachers, friends with kids, DH, all think she's fine so I'm thinking I'm worried for nothing but how long would you all let this go? I was rocking her to sleep and the raspy breathing was very evident and with my hand on her back I could feel the vibration from her breathing. I could keep trying to explain because I'm just trying to explain every little detail to make it as clear as possible even though I know you can't hear what I'm hearing lol. I just don't know at what point I should seek help (if I shouldn't have earlier). WWYD??
Re: At what point should I take her to the doctor?

DD started a weird type of wheezing last month with no other symptoms except for extreme fussiness and horrible naps. We took her to the doctors and I was also worried that she wouldn't do it while we were there. They were still able to give her an oxygen test and listen to her lungs. Turns out she was 100% fine and that the wheezing really wasn't wheezing, just her learning to make new noises and liking the way that sounded/felt. A new noise for her, lol. And the fussiness was just part of teething.
So definitely take her in, if not for peace of mind. They can at least administer an oxygen test and listen to her lungs and let you know if everything is clear.
In fairness and in full disclosure, I have a hefty dose of Health Anxiety, so I might not be the best person to respond, BUT...
I would call the doctor and ask if you can just pop in and have her lungs listened to. It is like a 5 minute appointment that will provide you with peace of mind.
I think the rule of thumb is usually 10 days with things like this, but the wheezing needs to be checked out.
