Best Jogger on a budget

Hi ladies.
I'm looking at getting a jogging stroller but can't really afford to spend a lot (well I could but with trying for baby #2 I don't want to drop a lot of $ on a single). So what's the best jogging stroller on a budget, that also will have a decent resale value when the time comes?

  • If you are taking resale into account, get a BOB.  What I would do is look for used one on Craiglist at a good price.  You can then sell it again when you don't need it and I bet you wouldn't end up spending more than $100-150 total.

I do not like BOBs. I've tried a few out and really wasn't feeling it.

  • I bought a Bob Revolution from craigslist for $175.  Including the cupholder accessory and was in great condition.  They have great resale value at least in our area.

Maybe try a Baby Jogger Summit (I think that's their jogger).  Everyone says the BOB is the absolute best so if you don't like those I'm not sure what else you would like better.

  • Cost wise you may want to check your local target, I got a jogger there for $27 during their baby sale. It is not a great jogger but for the $ I think it will work out just fine.

  • A used BOB

ETA: Ok, I just read your follow up reply.  What is it about a BOB that you do not like so that we can help understand what you are looking for?  Like pp said, it is truly a jogger and a utility stroller and it's pretty much a pinnacle of the jogging stroller. The Baby Jogger Summit is a very similarly priced jogger, but probably harder to come by used or on sale.

Your cheap options would be Schwinn or Jeep strollers.

Another option to consider if you truly need a jogging stroller and you do other suburban outdoor adventures consider one of the chariot type convertible buggies, but they are not cheap.

ETA: you can find them in a double option, and some have kits to convert into a  bike trailer, so it's versatile

Swoon. This is what I have. Although I got mine new, you can usually score one second hand for half of the original price, even for an older one. I got offered $400 for mine, even though it's an '03. I can't part with it, they're fantastic. I can't do cheap after this one.
  • I have the Schwinn Turismo and absolutely love it.

  • I like my Jeep Overland jogger a lot. Huge basket, very sturdy, plays music, adjustable shade, good price. The front wheel is fixed though, but it wasn't a big issues for me.

  • I spent 100 on a BabyTrend Expedition for the boy I nanny for and I absolutely love it. He is 4 and I've had it since he was 2. I run with it often, but it's also great for things like the zoo, mall, etc. Highly recommended!
