Crafty ladies what are you working on?

I'm really want to start some craft/and sewing projects.  I think I'm going to my sewing machine to the playroom so I can sew when V is awake.

Crystal's pins have inspired me to sew and I have a ton of sewing projects started: Audrey and Oliver's curtains  matching Easter dresses for the girls,  I need to hem all my Ikea curtains, and make throw pillows.

I also need to finish A's Valentines which and wool dryer balls.

What are you planning/working on?

Re: Crafty ladies what are you working on?

  • I have always wanted to sew, but I have never put an effort toward it. I've recently been looking at sewing machines, so maybe I can really give it a try.

  • I am making DS's quilt as soon as my shoulder is better.  I found a pattern for a turtle quilt.  The blocks are Drunkards Paths, laid out to resemble turtle shells and the heads and tails stick up.  I am using all bright colours because the rest of his room is going to be dark.

My mother is a wonderful seamstress and I learned  the basics from her.  I'm very impatient and I think that having patients is the trick to be a great sewer.  I need instant gratification I think that is why I like baking.

  • I made wool dryer balls yesterday. They were simple and seem to be doing the trick. That is about all the time I have for crafting.

I have an issue in the patience department as well. I took a sewing class in HS, but I remember becoming very frustrated with timing.

I just can't stand ironing and pinning.

  • Once all my fabric comes in, I'll be making all of DD #2's room linens -- crib sheets, crib skirt, bumper, changing pad covers, and curtains. I'm also going to make a french memo board.

  • I really need I finish the curtains in our master bedroom.

My latest non-sewing project was a train table for the kiddos.

They love it and I love how it came out! And I especially love how it doesn't look like your classic train table.

  • I am actually envious at all you ladies with sewing skills.  I'm going to have to give it a real go now after seeing Crystal's lion dress.  I'm dying over how cute that is.

  • I've started lining up ideas on pinterest for a busy book for E and I'm making valentines this week.

  • I want to make a quilt for each kid, pjs for each kid and myself, five dresses, three shirts, and six skirts for myself, and a skirt for Sophia. Then I want to knit a blanket using leftover yarn, two cowl scarves, four sweaters, and a lace skirt overlay. I have a goal to finish all of that by the end of the summer.
Then I also have crafty projects to improve home organization.
