Wow. I didn't realize how much work a non-sleep trained child was!! Scott has been officially sleep-trained for one month and I am loving it!
We tried around his year birthday with CIO and it was a complete disaster. We decided to hold off until January...when I was finished with my dissertation....so I could focus lots of attention of it.
We did the Sleep Lady Shuffle. This afternoon, I put Scott in his crib fully awake...and he knew I was leaving....and he fell asleep on his own and slept for 2.5 hours!! And that's pretty consistent.
Thanks to the ladies to helped along the way...Ambicklion (if she's lurking) and Mananna.
Re: A sleep trained kid makes for a very happy momma!!
We did the SLS when J was around 6 months and it was awesome. I tried it a few weeks ago and it didn't work very well at the age he is now.
I'm so glad it worked for your family!
Hooray! That's so exciting!
Once they start those long afternoon naps, it is soooo much easier to get things done. (Or in my case, soooo much more time to procrastinate. Ha.)
