I know I haven't participated on this board yet. We had a miscarriage in August and I was waiting for good news from an ultrasound before getting too excited.
Today was the ultrasound and now I'm just confused. LMP was December 2. Based on that I was told by the nurse practitioner that I was approximately 9 weeks as of today. Ultrasound showed baby measuring 7 weeks. We did see a heartbeat but the difference in weeks really worried me.
Sorry for the rambling. My question is if I ovulated later than I thought would the 7 week measurement mean 7 weeks from ovulation? 7 weeks from conception? Trying to work out dates in my head and its not adding up.

Re: Question on dating from u/s
That's what I thought, and why I'm worried. Our BFP was December 28th. It's just not adding up to me. And we don't have our next appointment until the 28th. My brain won't stop spinning.
OMG I hate hate hate hate hate how pregnancies are measured...they give everyone an extra two weeks and it's SO dumb! Sorry to be so crazy about this but I feel really strongly about it.
Anyhow, it's 7 weeks from a fake LMP for you, which is to say it's 5 weeks from conception/ovulation.
When did you get your positive pregnancy test? If it was 4 weeks after your LMP then yes, you might be measuring behind. But if it was more like 5-6 weeks after your LMP then you have nothing to worry about because you just ovulated late.
ETA: just saw your post that you got your BFP Dec 28. It is possible to get a positive just after implantation, which is when you're 3 weeks pregnant (1 week after ovulation). So you aren't necessarily 2 weeks behind. But it sounds like you could be measuring a bit behind. If you are concerned see if you can talk to a human about your situation and explain when your BFP was. They still might not get it...I can't tell you how much these people are locked into LMPs and don't get that some women know when they ovulated. But they might want to see you before the 28th if they think you are measuring behind. All of that being said, you did see a hb which is a very good sign. Also, for my first US last time my DS was measuring 4-5 days behind what I knew to be my real EDD based on ovulation and I freaked...but then he was measuring average or big the next time we went in. So their measurements aren't perfect and/or it's ok to be a little behind.
