Anyone interested in Saturday meetups?

Hey all,

So my DH is going to be busy on Saturdays for like the next two months taking a review course for his engineering exam. I thought that might be a good time to start meeting up with and hanging out with other Colorado ladies! I live in Thornton, but have no problems driving anywhere. I'd love to get to meet other moms! Hope to hear from you all! Smile

Re: Anyone interested in Saturday meetups?

  •  I would be interested.  Not every Saturday but I am sure I could make it now and then.

  • I think that would be nIce too! Are you pregnant or already a mommy?
  • I'm in. I also probably wouldn't be able to do every Saturday, but I would try to come as much as possible!
  • I'm interested.  I can't always do every Saturday either as I usually try to catch up on some of my homework I don't get done during the week.  I'm in Colorado Springs so depending on where to meet and when I'm sure up to meeting up with some of you ladies.

  • Yay I'm glad we got some takers! Maybe we should start with a meeting next Saturday somewhere? I'm pretty wide open regarding location and time, anyone have any suggestions?

I am currently pregnant with my first, due in May! I think there's a couple other May mom's here too...what about yourself?

  • I'm currently pregnant as well! But I'm still in my first trimester! It'll still be a 2013 baby though so that'll be nice :
  • I'm due sept and live in Denver, I'd be interested too!
  • I'm down! Sounds like fun and it will be nice to take a little break from my girls. By the way, my H is an engineer too, taking his exam this fall.

Is your husband taking the the PE? Mine is taking the FE. I can honestly say, I am glad I'm not that type of engineer! Software engineers don't have to take these crazy certification tests!

  • So I'm trying to remember where everyone is located and I'm not doing a very good job at it. If I remember correctly, there's quite a few in the South metro/Colorado Springs area, some in West metro (Golden, Morrison), and a few up north in Thornton and Longmont...is that right?

Maybe what we do is alternate meetup locations so one week it can be down further south and one week it can be in the northwestern metro area? How does that sound to people? Maybe a cute coffee shop or something might be fun. I'd love to get suggestions from you all!

I have a great idea! Any of you ladies into seeing plays? I recently discovered an incredible deal for 10 tickets for shows at Denver Center. Almost any show and the last time I went I got second row and dead center :

Yes, the PE. He's already stressing about it and he's not taking it until the fall. Serious stuff I guess! As for places to meet, I'll go anywhere. Since I'm new here, I don't know any places to suggest. But I like the idea of meetings in different parts of town each time to include everyone.

  • I'm north. I like the idea of something simple like a coffee shop to start. Smoothie store? Frozen yogurt? Cheesecake Therapy? My brain only thinks of food.

This could be fun! I'd be in for a play sometime!

  • So I found a coffee shop down in the south metro area called Milano Coffee that seems to have some pretty good reviews.

In the north area, there's a coffee shop called Cannon Mine Coffee that also has some pretty good reviews.

I haven't had any coffee in like six months, but since the weather is supposed to be pretty chilly this Saturday, a nice warm cup of something sounds pretty good to me. I'd totally be down for some froyo or something when the weather is warm though!

So...question is...do we want to do a north or south metro meeting first?

Is cheesecake thereapy the place in Arvada?  I have wanted to try that place.  I am just going to make a post about this and we can go from there!

  • I hope he passes the PE!  I finally passed this fall.  Ugh, what a chore!

I would love to do meet ups, I maybe can't make every Saturday (nap time is a bummer), but I could make some!
