So I am just about 5 weeks almost one month away from my due date of March 16th. I'm hearing lots about Braxton Hicks that they usually have already started or may be intensifying by now. I don't think I've felt anything that sounds like these at all. I know everyone is different and maybe it's still do early but I'm beginning to wonder if ill even know? Anyone else not really feeling much of anything going on? I've been very lucky that I've had an extremely easy and uneventful pregnancy and maybe this is just a continuation of that, just curious if anyone else is experiencing this.
Re: No Braxton hicks yet? Normal?
With my first, I didn't feel a single contraction, Braxton Hicks or not, until I was 38w4d. DD was born the next morning.
It's possible I felt something and ignored it, but when I felt that first contraction, I knew what it was. I remember laying in bed, felt the tightening and thinking "Oh, so that's what a contraction feels like". 13 hours later, I was holding my little girl. ;-)
It is pretty uneventful on this end as well. With DS1 at 30 weeks I was 3cm and never felt anything. I was induced at 39 weeks (hypertension) and some days and by then had made it to 4cm. This time around I was checked at 31 weeks and nada. From time to time I do get some tightening in my lower stomach/pelvic area but nothing major and at night sometimes I have mild cramping.
I hate the last month or so when time slows down because I'm watching every little thing my body does. It's so frustrating, like waiting for water to boil or something.
I'm 36 weeks and I haven't felt any yet either. There is a girl in my birthing class who is only a couple days ahead of me and she has been having them for awhile now, plus a lot of lower back pain.
Our teacher said the exact same thing that ettraud said above.. I've just been considering myself lucky that I've had a relatively easy pg.
