6 weeks, I go back to work on Monday. However I do not plan on working full time until January. Taking more than 6 wasn't an option for me because I am not protected my FMLA and I didn't want to risk losing my job.
When #2 comes along, DH will have paternity leave too, so I'm planning to take anywhere from 12-20 weeks (depending on finances) and then he'll take about 8 weeks.
Mommy to DD1 (June 2007), DS (January 2010), DD2 (July 2012), and The Next One (EDD 3/31/2015)
I took about 5 months -- I got paid for the amount of sick day I had accumulated. I'm lucky that I'm a teacher -- I had my dd in April and went back to work the following school year in late August.
I plan on taking about 12 weeks. Maybe longer depending on a few variables.

I took 17 weeks with baby and had 9 weeks off before the baby came. I am a teacher though and that included summer break, Thanksgiving break, and now Winter Break. I will go back after the break- January 5th.
I took 12 weeks with DS and 11 weeks with DD, but took a day off each week for the next 5 weeks to finish off my last week of leave. You're entitled to X number of hours w/in a 12 month period, they don't have to be taken all together as long as your boss is ok with it.
I was very fortunate to take 18 weeks off. 6 weeks paid from STD, much of the rest paid b/c I saved up a lot of sick and vacation days. I think only 1 month of it was unpaid.
I was out for 12 weeks with both of my girls. With #2, 2 weeks were before she was born due to bedrest but it was still 12 weeks total - that is the max I could get.
Re: Maternity Leave
I'm taking between 8-12 weeks. It depends on how well we keep doing financially.
Realistically, it will probably be 10 weeks.

Not pregnant yet, but I hope to take 4-6 months.

Tales of the Wife
3 months with the twins, and 8 weeks with this baby.
In both cases, I felt ready to go back to work, although a bit overwhelmed.
with dd I took 12 weeks (6 paid, 6 unpaid)
with ds I took 4 months (6 paid, rest unpaid)
