A little bummed

Since I've been at home, I have been trying to get out and make other mom friends so DD and I aren't all alone.  After being at our library's weekly story time with two other moms whose girls are within a month of DD, I got the courage up to ask for their numbers so we could get together sometime.

The one mom invited us to her daughter's 1st birthday play date today.  DD woke up with a cold on Saturday.  I was trying to convince myself it was just a runny nose and that she would be OK to go to the party today, but I woke up with it this morning.  I think God is saying we need to stay home.  I'm sure the best way to make new friends is not to bring my sick kid over to their house.

Stupid colds!

    That stinks. I hope you'll have a chance to get together with them soon - and that you feel better!

    Aw, that's so disappointing. I also have a friend that I've been trying to get together with for almost 2 months. She has two little kids and between hers and mine, someone has been sick every time we've tried to get together. The one nice part is that there's a lot of understanding when it comes to dealing with other moms. If I can't make something because of a sick kid with a friend that doesn't have kids, it's never as easy as when I have to cancel with a mom!

    Boo. I have had the same issues with illness lately. I'm so ready for flu season to pass. Good for you taking the chance to set something up!

    I've been reading MWF Seeking BFF and it inspired me to put myself out there! I recommend the book. Cute read.
