Our little JJ is here!

Javier Joseph made his debut on Feb 2 at 11:49am. Despite promises from our ultrasound tech of an 8 to 9lb baby, he was just 6lbs, 11oz, and 20.5 inches long.

My bp was high and amniotic fluid low at my Friday appt, so doc sent me to the hospital to be induced. Cervadil was put in fun! at 5p. By 3am, I was having some pretty painful contractions, but baby's heart rate was dropping, so they took it out, gave me oxygen and fluids. I was still completely closed. Then the waiting began.

They wanted baby's hr to stabilize before starting pitocin, but it kept dropping when I got up to pee or change positions. Finally doc showed up and decided to start me on the lowest dose and see what happened. Contractions restarted, but baby wasn't tolerating themhis hr dropped after each one.

So, of course, I wound up having a csection, which i was totally and stupidly unprepared for. It was quick and painless, but not getting to hold baby right away was heart breaking.

Still, we all made it through, and are recovering nicely here in the hospital until Tuesday. As soon as I figure out how to post a picture, I willhe's such a handsome little guy, with lots of dark hair, just like his Papi!
